Rated 1 out of 5Â by ItsAlwaysSomething Failed after two weeks
I purchased four of these at my local Home Depot. I installed them and they looked great for about two weeks when one of them failed. After a couple more days a second one failed. A third one failed about three months later. Only one of the four has lasted past four months. These are LED lights and should last for years. When they fail, you can't just replace the LED, you have to replace the entire unit, so these units are not a good value if they don't last for at least a few years. I don't know if I just got a bad batch or if there is a problem with this design.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by ItsAlwaysSomething Status Report on my LED Malibu Lights
As promised, I am giving a status report on my experience with these lights. I finally received the three replacement units in August. Today I finally had a few free minutes to install them. As I noted the first time I installed them, they look great including the one still working from the original lot of four.
So we'll see how it goes and I'll come back in a month or two or three and report.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by ItsAlwaysSomething I would like these lights to work!
I'm glad to hear that reviewer "PKR01" has had a good experience with these lights. That gives me hope and I really want these lights to work. I am in fact meeting all the requirements that he suggests (although the instructions say a minimum of 10 feet between the transformer and first light). Before writing my first review, I double checked all the requirements and measured the voltage at the transformer and at each of the lights. Everything is in order as far as my setup. I even checked the pierce connections because they tend to be a common point of failure with Malibu lights. (I'm actually an electrical engineer so I probably know a little more about this stuff than the average Malibu user.)
So perhaps I was just unlucky and got a bad batch of lights. Hopefully I will find out soon. When my first two Malibu lights went out, I contacted Malibu and they said they would send out replacements but told me they were on backorder so it might take a little while. That was over five months ago and in my two subsequent calls since then (to report the failure of the third light and to check status) they told me they are still on backorder. Which tends to make me believe there is a design or manufacturing flaw that they are trying to work out.
But I promise that I will come back to update my review as my experience unfolds! Hopefully it will be a good one.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by PKR01 Best value in quality outdoor lighting
I have used these LED lights for both residential and commercial use. They are hands down the best value in a 50 watt equivalent lamp. They are the same warm 2700K color temperature as their halogen equivalent, consume one fifth the wattage, last ten times as long, and burn five times cooler. The only reason I can think of that the person who commented before me had such a short life on the flood lights they purchased was either from a bad transformer, using less than 12 gauge wiring, or not providing a minimum of 20 feet of cable between the transformer and the fixture. Any one, or combination of the three, can cause premature lamp failure. My ten fixtures are still "going strong" after 18 months use.
