Stiebel Eltron developed tankless electric water heating technology 90 years ago and continues as the industry pioneer and world leader. Our engineering and manufacturing tradition of excellence means you can depend on the performance and reliability of our products. Instead of storing hot water, DHC models are tankless, heating water instantaneously and endlessly as it flows through the unit. They are 99% efficient, and, unlike tank-type water heaters, have no stand-by energy losses. No venting is necessary, and the sleek, compact European design even allows for installation with the unit visible. DHC models are ideal for residential and commercial point-of-use sink applications including: bathrooms, cabins and cottages, office buildings, stores, malls, warehouses, restaurants, and gas stations. DHC models are sized based on the flow rate of the sink you are plumbing for hot water. The temperature of the hot water delivered by a DHC depends on the temperature of the incoming cold water, the water flow through the unit, and the size of the DHC model that is installed. DHC models excel at supplying water at a constant temperature rise but must be carefully matched to the application in order to operate properly. Refer to the DHC Sizing Guide and Temperature Rise Chart under 'More Views' to determine which model you need. Call Stiebel Eltron at 800.582.8423 if you have any sizing questions.

  • Professional installation recommended
  • DHC 6-2 tankless electric water heaters are designed to provide hot water for 1 low/medium-flow lavatory sink in warm or cool climates, or 1 medium-flow lavatory sink in warm climates
  • DHC 6-2 models require 208/240 volt electric service with 1 dedicated 30 amp breaker and 10 gauge copper wiring
  • DHC models excel at supplying water at a constant temperature rise but the model size must be carefully matched to the application in order to operate properly
  • Installation should be as close to your draw off point as possible to make the wait for hot water as short as possible and maximize energy savings
  • DHC tankless electric water heaters do not need pressure relief valves, drains, or circulating pumps
  • The sleek European design is considerably smaller than a tank, saving space and allowing flexibility to determine the best location for installation
  • DHC units must be installed vertically with the water fittings pointing down
  • DHC tankless water heaters are ETL Listed for compliance with CSA and UL safety standards in the US and Canada
  • Water connections for DHC water heaters are 1/2 in. NPT and should be detachable (such as braided steel flex connectors or isolation valves) to allow for easy servicing of the unit
  • DHC tankless electric water heaters are exempt from seismic code
  • Overheat safety protection and thermal protection reset are standard
  • See warranty for complete details of the 3-year residential and commercial warranty against defects in workmanship and materials under normal use

Rated 3.1 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Second one in 3years This is the second heater we buy in 3years, exactly when the warranty expires it broke down and we had to get another one, the electrician came and changed it easily. February 4, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Works as described I followed the guide for selection and it was right on. I would have purchased the next size up due to our faucet flow rate and the incoming water temp, however, the existing electrical wiring limited me to 30 amps. I am very happy with the unit though. I wish it had a more durable electrical enclosurel to use conduit or flexible conduit. The enclosure provided is for an electrical cord. Also, I installed a filter before hand because I was told sediments can really mess these up. March 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by works much better than other product I purchased This was the second tankless heater i purchased, replacing one that did not heat at all. This product heats a sink quite well, was easy to install, and looks good enough you dont have to hide it in a cabinet. July 3, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very Dissapointing I bought this to heat water for a single sink in my workshop. I installed it on a dedicated 240V 30A circuit. It barely heats the water at all. It's a shame because the unit is well made and looks nice. There are some instructions for reducing the water flow to increase the temperature, but even at low flow rates it does not get hot. It's OK if you just need arm water for washing your hands etc (As I do) but as a hot water source it's more or less useless. January 6, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Works, but know its limits The product itself is of high quality and easily installed. Its impartant to realize this product will only perform (as pointed out in other posts and in the instructions) as well as the water you are supplying to it. In a nut shell, it heats water 35-40 degrees, period. You can increase that a little bit by choking the flow, but if you are in a cold reagon, say a cold garage where the water is coming into the unit at 40-45 degrees; you are going to get 70-75 degrees water at the sink. I guess you could say its Seasonably Sensitive... It will work for washing hands and such in the winter, and of course in the warmer months it will be quite functional as a hot water source.
