CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 208 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent traditional top load washer I LOVE LOVE LOVE this washer. I wanted a traditional top load washer and after looking at many brands, I really was drawn to the GE models. It still has some of the "modern" quirks to it like not being able to watch it work with the lid open (there is an easy work around) and the energy efficient standards that are in place today don't allow for true warm or hot water. Cold is cold, warm is luke warm and hot is hot but not steaming like it came out of the faucet. If you don't use the "Power Rinse" mode, it will not fill completely with water during rinse cycle. Hasn't been a problem for me but I could see it being a potential hazard to clothes if it's a large load. Otherwise it's just like any washer from the past decades. It still has a traditional timer instead of electronic controls..something I really like. It's super quiet too, especially during agitation. Many cycles to choose from and they are not extended like some front loaders. I've done large loads in under an hour. Perfect. It does not have a delicates cycle, but I use the light setting on Perm Press on any garments that are delicate and it's worked fine. I would very much recommend this set to anyone, especially anyone not wanting a modern HE washer. I've been a loyal GE customer for years and this washer exceeds my expectations. October 10, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by LARGE LOAD GREAT, SMALL LOAD NOT SO GREAT I have owned Whirlpool and Kitchen Aid washers in the past and never had problems like this. My first load was a large load and so were the next several loads and everything was great. Then I washed a set of sheets and pillow cases, when it drained and started the spin it sounded like someone was beating the washer with a hammer. When I got to the washer it was rocking so hard it was lifting off the floor side to side then shut down by itself. I looked inside and the agitator had balled the sheets up and they were on one side which made it unbalanced. I have tried several small load since and had the same results. The washer was leveled before any loads were washed and has been checked numerous times. The only way I can wash is to save items and wait until I have a large load. October 2, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by awesome appliances i would tell everyone this is a company you can trust for applainces November 5, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 efficent and quiet this is quite a different appliance than I am used to...my old one 22yrs old croaked and I needed to purchase a new one... deciding against a digital or front loader I decided on this one... It took a few washes to get used to the different sounds it makes... uses less detergent... it doesnt use a lot of water or agitates noisely like my old one. I panicked on the first wash expecting it to make lots of sudden stop and kick in sounds. its just quiet. I keep the optional rinse cycle on for every load and love the dryness of the load after the very fast spin... bought in a pair with compatible dryer for less than $1000 ( taxes and delivery included). Remember less water and less detergent is better! March 5, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Pricewise, it was the best value plus easy to use. It is very quiet and does a good job. It sure brightens up my washroom. Every day I learn something new about my wash machine . By being legally blind my husband has put tape on the dials, that way I know where to start it...The machine does the rest... October 29, 2014
