Rated 2.6 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Very Short Range Only A great little Walkie Talkie for very short distance 2-W communications; Line of sight up to half a mile. Don't believe marketing hype regarding 26 miles unless you are speaking mountain peak to mountain peak and then still don't believe it. The way most people will use these, I believe will limit reliable communications to under one mile. Period. So, from car to car, traveling close together OK, should work fine for within shouting distance, but little more under "average conditions" most folks will want to use them. For longer distance you'll need a 5 watt RF output, which most manufacturers only publish in their FCC ID. RF output of these units is 0.62 watts; not that much. January 6, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by JUST RIGHT FOR US We first purchased Motorola brand walkie talkies because they had a very good rating. We found them too complicated to understand especially because my husband has memory problems. (I had trouble with them too & the instructions were printed so small, I couldn't even read them with my new glasses!) So we went back to Uniden brand which we had before and had no trouble at all understanding them or using them. They simple to operate. We are seniors & use them in and around stores. They are good for this purpose. October 12, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by POOR RANGE - NOT Dependable For Emergencies On Flat Open Land on a Clear and Sunny day, you would be lucky if the Range reaches Two-miles... I Wouldn't Bet Anyone's life on it... Very disappointed. The Value or Quality is Low, Since It Does Not Work as intended/stated as 26-mile range (even Ten-miles might be acceptable), but Less Than Two-miles is horrible. October 1, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Bad..would not recommend it stops to work at 2 km distance. Really unsatisfied as we wanted to use this walkie talkie on our farm. September 11, 2013
