CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by How To Chiminea Seems alot of people have problems with Clay Chiminea's. They are clay so over time will degrade. But here is the deal. DO NOT use sand. Sand will get WAY WAY to hot. What you use is Lava Rock. Fill the bottom of the Chiminea with a reasonable amount of Lava Rock. Light small fires initially so ash gets down into the nooks and crannys between the Lava Rocks. A small Log holder also helps chiminea's draft better. When lighting a fire start small and gradually build it up. A clay Chiminea will expand with heat. Just like clay in a kiln if temperature comes up too quickly the clay can expand too fast and crack. Rated 2 out of 5 by Not so yellow Agree with the other comments small gradual fire is the best way don't expect a full on outdoor fireplace affect. As for it being rustic yellow I would go with stressed orange you can see some yellow in the stain but don't expect what you see online a bit disappointed because we had expected something else Still a nice product for the price point it's a you get what you pay for product so make sure you evaluate your needs first September 7, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Does the job and still holding up We bought this a month ago and have used it 3 times. So far so good. Only doing small fires for now so I can't say for sure how it is when we start making bigger ones. Looks good on our small courtyard at the side of the house. October 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by love it it is better then the picture. love the large fire opening. it is easy to move and carry because of it's 3 piece design. June 10, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Bottom fell out after a week I received this chiminea as a Christmas gift. After reading up on the curing process online, since there were no directions in the box, I added a little sand and built two very small short fires in the chiminea. A few days later the bottom fell out of the chiminea. Fortunately we didn't have a fire in it at the time. I will be returning the device to THD today for a refund. January 6, 2013
