It cut threw drifts of 2 feet deep snow like it was butter. My wife said I was done so fast that she did not have time to finish making Breakfast. Only thing I can ask for was faster shipping on Home Depots part which IMO was the Shipping company fault. It took 3 weeks to get to me, but I did get it 1 day before the Blizzard hit. I had to put it together in the windy cold which was not fun. I wish it came with a DVD so it would have made it easy to put together rather than lose the instructions in the wind. One issue I did have was the joy stick was getting stuck. I will look into it when it gets a little warmer out. In the Cub Cadet Video it shows a young woman using it. IMO I think a woman can work it easy but unless they have huge hands I feel it will be hard for them to work the power steering unless they have huge hands or stop the blower. Other than that I give this bad boy 5 stars.

The overall of the machine is very good. The problem was that the power steering lever pins were missing and the levers were just hanging there. Whoever is responsible for installing the e-clips, forgot to put them on and the pins fell out during delivery. It wouldn't have been so bad except the bottom of the crate is open. Had it been closed the pins would have just been on the floor. I called customer service and they shipped them with no questions. Good thing I had a couple bolts and nuts that fit well enough... It snowed two days later.
I have used it twice. The second time was a heavy 5" snow. It handled it perfectly except the shute distance control flap slowly creeps up when the snow gets heavy and you need to keep aiming it down. Other than that the joystick Shute control is great.
The best feature in my opinion is the powersteering "disengage" levers. They make for easy 180' turn arounds and when you pull both in, it goes into a neutral position and you can pull it wherever you want.
The light should have been placed higher because it sends a shadow at night about 6' in front, which is where you want to see.
Lastly, make sure you fill the oil when you get it...they only fill it to the minimum line.
The pictures I have posted show the overall machine, the Shute that moves up with heavy snow, the shadow the light throws making it hard to see close, the Shute blocking the light, the screws that I had to put in place of the missing pins and the pins that were delivered to fix it.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by JimD Lacks Shave Plate
This unit lacks a shave plate, a protective bar along the bottom of the housing. Though present on the 3X models and on [other brand] competitors (as well as my single-stage [other brand] that this 528 was meant to replace), it is absent on the 2X528SWE. This means that every time you use the unit you will be banging, denting, and scratching the housing rather than a replaceable part. I am concerned this will lead to premature rusting of the base of the housing. Yes, you can reduce, but not eliminate this by raising the skids, but then you are leaving a quarter to half inch layer of snow on the driveway. I am not particularly interested in the gadgetry and turning features of the 2X528SWE, I would rather have the basic protective shave plate, either hard plastic or hard rubber. I will be returning the unit to the store.

Shipped to home crated on a pallet. It was 99% assembled. You just have to install a rod for the shoot, and install the shoot which used rods and cotter pins, The handle bars just have wing nuts to tighten and some plastic wrap had to be removed.
This blower is large, heavy and performs well in snows deeper than 4 inches. It has plenty of power and turns effortlessly
The shoot and shoot control box should be metal. Also the control panel should be metal. This snow blower is large and will take up a lot of room in a garage. If you don't have the space, get a smaller one.

The power, snow-throwing capacity and mobility are good. The single hand chute control is problematic. It simply has too much play and requires more torque, thus is not effortless as advertised, and will strip easily. Also, the power steering trigger on the right side does not work reliably and operates only half the time. I was able to buy it for $200 off list price.Test it and be critical with your retailer before you take the plunge. Also, make sure you have your own service guy and do not buy the warranty. It does the job for now however.
