Rated 4 out of 5Â by Oneydee CLOSE to being our dream fridge but w/ a few niggles
I'll start off by saying that my wife and I are picky buyers for big purchases like this. We both spent months doing significant research, including reading everything Consumer Reports printed about refrigerators in the last two years (73 of 85 rating on this model BTW) and going to every appliance store within a 50 mile radius of our home (near Spokane, WA - big enough to have 20+ store options to explore.) We had narrowed down our search to LG and Samsung because of feature sets, appearance and ratings. Our focus narrowed even more when we decided that a four door french door was going to be the right one for us. LG does make a four door but theirs is a door within a door design and we liked this Samsung's middle drawer space ("flex zone" in Samsung speak) better overall. We've had the fridge now for 6 months and it has mostly lived up to our expectations. It is roomy at 28cf and the LED lighting that swells to full brightness when you open a door stills dazzles us every time. I've never had such a well lit fridge before. The shelf space is good and there are two shelves that can be lifted or slid up or back to make space for those tough to place taller items like wine bottles or two liters soda bottles. There really are thoughtful touches and engineering ideas all over the fridge including no spill shelves with enough of an edge to catch spills so they don't drip down all over the lower shelves, triple independent climate controls for the upper doors, flex-zone mid drawer, and freezer temps, and even a pizza box vertical slot built in to the freezer so a frozen pizza can stand up vertically against the front freezer wall and allow for more space for other bulky things in the main freezer section.
Complaints are relatively small (keep in mind I am a bit of a perfectionist and maybe even have a touch of OCD) but are mostly related to the noises the unit makes. Like many other reviewers online have noted the ice maker is LOUD when the cubed ice drops into the bucket. It is no exaggeration to say that it sounds like rocks are being dropped into a hard plastic bucket from 6 feet up! The noise is the loudest when the ice container is empty and refilling but even when it is mostly full it is still loud. I just simply have never heard such a racket from an ice maker in any other fridge I've owned. The other loud component is the compressor-fan system. We noted before buying that reviews were mixed on this. Some said they had a pretty loud unit while others described their fridge as 'quiet as a church mouse.' I guess we got one of the former models as ours has a pretty constant low frequency sound emanating from the back. I haven't been able to determine if it is just the compressor or just one of the fans or both in concert together but the resultant noise is noticeable to my ears standing 10-15 feet away from the unit. My wife says it is normal and doesn't bother her but I KNOW this fridge is louder than the 10 year old Amana it replaced. This fridge is certainly more complex than that unit with it's dual climate controls with more moving/working parts but I just don't buy that Samsung couldn't mitigate the sound more if they tried to.
Overall this is a VERY nice refrigerator. Certainly the bling factor is off the charts and everyone who has seen it has been impressed with it's looks and design. In the end I would recommend it for purchase with a purchase of the Home Depot 4 year extended warranty to go with. For $150 extra that seems like a good value to insure for such an expensive long-term item.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Makidi Convenience and organized.
I absolutely love this refrigerator! I asked social media friends to give me a recommendation for a 4 door French Door Refrigerator and the Samsung was given high reviews. I choose the 4 door because I didn't want to have to open both refrigerators doors in order to open the large snack drawer. I like to be organized and this refrigerator provides that. I like how the freezer drawer is constructed. Others looked cheap and flimsy. Occasionally, I will hear the ice cubes drop. Outside of that, it is a very quite running refrigerator. This refrigerator would dress up any kitchen!

Rated 2 out of 5Â by Jleroy All good except the part about being cold......
2 stars because it's all good except door storage temp too high, and getting things cold is the whole point here, Samsung are your listening? This fridge we thought was the greatest thing since sliced bread, very quiet. But after a few weeks we began to notice items kept in doors (a huge percentage of useable space) were not cold enough. Tried all the lowest settings before calling service. Was told that as long as I'm able to achieve an internal temperature between 34°- 46° that was within their specs. Supervisor told me same thing but also said my thermometers (4) were obviously off, and since none were made by Samsung we didn't know if they were even accurate (forget about the noticeably not cold door items). I asked about acquiring a Samsung thermometer and was told they don't make thermometers. We could not get the door temp below 38° using the coldest setting and checking product internal temp as well as air temp first thing in am over several days, using several different thermometers, several times, and coldest inside center bottom back of fridge around 38° was about the coldest we ever got. During day we recorded 40-42° product temp in door, federal guidelines for milk are below 40°. I'm pretty sure it was a temp sensor issue, but Samsung would not for the life of them acknowledge something may be faulty. Ok so we knew what to expect from their cust service by now, and the fridge door milk rose above 40° throughout the day. I decided I did not need this aggravation on a near 3k $ refrigerator. Lets see if we can just return this and forget about Samsung altogether. Yes, yay Home Depot, they know customer service. We both LOVE our new GE, gets cold, even in doors and without the non-existant thermometers. Now we're both happy. Another note regarding the forth door/drawer, we didn't like it after all, you had to open it to see what was in there after opening upper section, so much for energy efficiency. I suppose if you have small children and that's their drawer and you can remember what is in there it would be good, but we like the fact on the new 3 door that all is right there to see.

If you're looking for a nice sized refrigerator that will brighten up your kitchen and provide you with oodles of options, this one may be just the right fit.
The cost @ $2,099.00 was a big step down from the original price @ $3,100.00. I picked this one up during the 4th of July sale at a big discount. I had been looking at models like this one and when it showed up during the sale it seemed like an easy choice. I had to double check it just to be sure it wasn't a mistake.
This is a nice unit with plenty of light and the LED lighting is a nice touch. There's lots of room inside and in the doors as well. The center drawer is really nice for food making the transition from the freezer to the refrigerator, and the entire box seems well organized to fit your individual needs. I especially liked the fold in shelf that allows you to create more space for tall items that wouldn't normally fit in the conventional sized shelf space. It's really great for a nice big pitcher of Iced Tea.
The freezer space is abundant. I'm glad they didn't decide to put a second ice maker in the bottom as it really makes for more freezer space. The great LED lighting extends to the freezer area so things are easy to find in the two shelf configuration.
If I had one negative thing to say about this unit at this point, it would be about how difficult it is to keep the beautiful Stainless Steel clean. I can't really complain, since I was the one who wanted it from the beginning and I got exactly what I ordered. Big - Bold - Shinny. Also if you're worried about the height of this unit listed at a whopping 70 inches tall, don't start cutting yet!!! It's only the front 10 inches (for the door hinge covers) that is 70 inches tall. After that it's only 68 1/4 inches tall. This would have saved me a lot of time and effort if I had known beforehand.
With Home Depot financing, I also got the 24 months interest free financing. How the heck can you beat that?

Rated 1 out of 5Â by tommyy2 Two delivered both bad
July 1, 2013 I purchased a Samsung RF4287HABP 28 cu ft. refrigerator from Home Depot. This refrigerator has two french doors and two drawers (one freezer, one fresh food) on the front. On July 9 my refrigerator was delivered, during delivery checkout the control panel locked up and the delivery personnel could not input anything (temp settings, ice cubes or crushed etc), power was disconnected and reconnected and it started working properly again, everything seemed fine. Later that evening the panel locked up again so I unplugged/replugged it back in and it worked once more. The next day the same problem occurred so I reported the problem to Samsung and the refrigerator was replaced on July 15.
The second refrigerator worked perfectly for 3 days then after taking something out of the fresh food drawer on closing it I noticed the right side of the drawer stopped about a half inch from being fully closed leaving a gap for warm air to enter and cold air to escape. I pulled the drawer all the way out and re closed it again and it closed correctly this time, looked fixed to me. The following week it occurred again and it has been happening 2 or 3 times a week ever since. Usually we notice when closing the drawer however twice we did not and the drawer contents were covered with condensation and no longer very cold. In the week we had the first refrigerator before it was replaced this never happened. On August 1 I accepted the fact that something is really wrong I called Samsung to get it fixed.
First person I talked to at Samsung was Ron he said it sounded like an installation issue, and that if it was, I would be billed for the call so I should call the store where purchased it to have them fix it. I explained that it was delivered in a Samsung box and the drawers and the doors were never removed /installed, it was all assembled by Samsung. Ron said it did not matter but he'd get verification of that and put me on hold, after a few minutes the call was dropped.
I called Samsung back and explained it all again to Uschi. She asked me to remove everything from the drawer to see it that worked, I explained again that it only failed 2 or 3 times a week. At that Ushi told me âif it's defective it will fail to close properly every time and never work rightâ. I asked to speak to a supervisor.
Desino the supervisor got on the line and I explained it all to him. He said 9 out of 10 times he'd seen this problem it was an install issue and if so I will get billed for the call. He also said if it worked at all it was not defective. I asked him, if I opened and closed the drawer 5 times and it closed properly once and failed to completely close 4 times what is that. He said if it closed properly 1 out of 5 times it was not defective.
So I buy a $3000 plus Samsung Refrigerator and the first one delivered has an electronics problem as soon as it is taken out of the box, the replacement has a drawer that often fails to close all the way and fails to seal, and Samsung service is telling me that either it is an installation problem they are going to bill me for or that it is not defective at all because sometimes it closes properly.
