Horrible first installation/EXCELLENT second installation

I had a very disappointing experience with the first set of cabinets and installation. The doors were poor quality and when I had them installed, the pullouts were too large and hit the doors. None of the doors operated correctly as they did not have the correct number of screws and proper installation. I then had to basically fight and plead my case with the new manager in Fort Myers to replace and recognize the poor quality of the product. I felt demeaned and like I was asking for something I should not get. I chose Home Depot for my refacing job as I have always had excellent customer service from HD. I will not recommend the Fort Myers or Cape Coral store because of this experience. I am lucky that I finally got cabinets that were well made and installed by a "10" level installer. He cared and he wanted me to be happy with the product and his work. It took an extra few months but now I can look at my cabinets without cringing and looking away. In addition to this experience, I see that I have two dents in my refrigerator and stove. These were not there before the installation (and yes, these were purchased within the last two years at HD) and I just realized the dents were there when I started to pull out the refrigerator to paint. The first installer did not replace the refrigerator so the door would open. He left a screw in the garbage disposal so that did not work and he had to come back to reset it. There was glue on the floor which I had to use a razor blade on to remove it. The 2nd installer left the place immaculate and everything was as it should be. I know that if I report the dents, I will have to fight this manager and I do not have the energy to deal with someone like that again.

Coordination of this project was terrible.

I did not realize that I would have to engage each department on my own when I contracted this job. First I had the resurfacing job then the countertop job, and each of the utilities in different departments. Than when the job began I found that I would have to contact on my own a plumber, an electrician, and any other tradesman that was necessary to complete this job. It has been upsetting for me to have to worry about contacting each of these specialists. Not only that but the timing to get these contractors in a timely fashion after each phase of the job is finished will leave me living in a mess with no kitchen for more than a month. Why could I not have just been able to have this all coordinated when I sat with your representative in the Home Depot store? It would be advantageous for you to arrange for smooth coordination of your home decorating or installation jobs. It would also be comforting to a customer to know that when they contract a job with you that all is taken care of at once, and in a timely fashion. This job is still not completed and it began on December 19th, 2016 and the tradesman recommended don;t even return my calls.( Ex. electrician Juice Co.)

I am an architect and have knowledge of the building trades so I am super critical: Work: Could not have asked for a better outcome, far exceed my expectations. Workmanship: Had to be one of the best I have seen in my years. Meticulous attention to detail, careful resolution to problems and execution that was near perfect.

What is Cabinet Refacing?

Cabinet refacing is a quick, convenient update that can give your kitchen a newly remodeled look in a fraction of the time it takes to remodel. In just days, rather than weeks or months, we can help you build your dream – with minimal disruption to your home life.

If you like the current layout of your kitchen or just prefer to avoid the cost and inconvenience of remodeling, cabinet refacing offers the perfect solution. You also keep your existing cabinet frames intact and get back to cooking in your own kitchen a lot sooner by refacing cabinets rather than replacing them.

Our professional installers can complete most kitchen cabinet refacing projects in just 3-5 days from the time installation begins, leaving you with a kitchen that will provide lasting enjoyment.

What To Expect During Your Refacing Project

Upgrading your kitchen cabinets in three simple steps

Step 1. In-Home Consultation

Begin by scheduling an in-home visit with one of our design consultants. We’ll bring samples of a wide variety of products for refacing cabinets, including hardware and accessories, and help you create the look of your new dream kitchen.

Step 2. Measure and Order

When you’re ready to start your project, the design consultant will make an appointment for one of our trained technicians to take measurements for refacing kitchen cabinets in your home. After all measurements and product selections are finalized, we will order your custom made kitchen cabinetry and schedule an installation date.

Step 3. Expert Installation

Within 3-5 days after installation begins, our professional, licensed and insured cabinet refacing installers will transform the look of your kitchen with minimal disruption to your home life. Your kitchen cabinet refacing installation project includes prepping cabinet surfaces, removing old drawers and drawer fronts, installing and refacing cabinet doors, drawers, and frames, and a thorough clean-up and haul away of debris.

Refacing Kitchen Cabinets

Cabinet refacing allows you to replace your old cabinet doors, drawers, drawer fronts, hardware and accessories with custom manufactured products, all installed by licensed professionals. While the structure of your cabinets remain, they will be veneered with high-quality material to provide the style you desire. Your new cabinet doors and drawer fronts will match the refaced frames, giving your kitchen a brand-new look. The inside of your cabinets can also be upgraded, like dovetail drawer boxes and new drawer slides that allow for a soft close every time.

Your refacing project with The Home Depot can also include cabinet organization, a new kitchen island, replacement countertops, or installation of new backsplashes or sinks to match the refaced cabinetry. Whether your style is modern, classic, contemporary or somewhere in between, the variety of colors with cabinet refacing includes shades of brown, white, gray, and more. With different drawer pull and knob styles, the possibilities are endless! Backsplashes range from classic white subway tile to interlocking and square designs that mesh perfectly with new refaced cabinets. And don’t forget to add organizational items like a pot and pan caddy or a sink base pullout.

There is a long list of benefits to cabinet refacing. The project takes just a few days, and you can keep using your kitchen while upgrades are made. Even better, the refaced cabinets look like they were just installed at a cost that’s much friendlier than your average remodel, but still can offer the convenience of a custom kitchen. While you can attempt a cabinet refacing project yourself, working with our hand-picked professionals brings a free design consultation, high-quality craftsmanship, and a kitchen you’ll love with little-to-no hassle.

Refacing cabinets improves the look and feel of your home without a complete remodel and without all the down time. Contact us today for a free in-home consultation.

Cabinet Refinishing
Refinishing kitchen cabinets is similar to cabinet refacing because of the end result, however the process of how the cabinets receive their facelift differs. The beginning of a refinishing project is the same: all cabinet fronts, doors, and hardware are safely removed, leaving only the frame on the walls. Where a cabinet refinishing project differs is when sanding and re-staining or painting the existing materials occurs rather than replacing them with brand-new cabinet fronts, doors and hardware.

A refinishing project allows you to change the color of your kitchen, but cabinet refacing with The Home Depot provides the opportunity to add a completely new cabinet style, and even add other new kitchen storage and accessories without the mess involved with sanding or staining. If you’re considering a cabinet refinishing project, learn more about the possibilities of cabinet refacing by scheduling a FREE in-home consultation with one of our experienced kitchen experts.

Cabinet Refacing Cost
One of the best benefits of refacing your kitchen cabinets is the cost associated with the work versus a large kitchen remodel. Cabinet refacing with The Home Depot allows you to customize your current kitchen’s layout in a variety of ways in a fraction of the time and cost. In less than a week, you can craft a brand-new kitchen design and even maintain use of the space while our licensed and insured contractors are working on the quick remodel. You can reduce your budget for kitchen upgrades by opting for a cabinet refacing project!

Before and After Photos
One of the best ways to visualize the impact of a quick kitchen remodel is to take before and after photos! When you let The Home Depot reface cabinets for you, be sure to take photos of your kitchen area before the remodeling begins. Once the project is finished and our installers have cleaned up, leaving you with brand-new kitchen cabinets and more, be sure to snap after photos to compare the upgraded style to your old design. The before and after photos should tell the story of the impact cabinet refacing can have on your home’s interior design.

We Bring the Showroom to You

Let our design consultants show you samples of our unmatched selection of refacing products to build your new kitchen. During the install, we will change your cabinet's door style, color, finish and hardware.

We’ll also bring selections from the wide assortment of countertops, sinks, backsplashes, and accessories available at The Home Depot.
