Worst possible installation process.

We ordered 2 rooms of carpet and 2 room of hardwood flooring to be installed. It took 114 days for the installation to be completed and the cost was more than the estimate. I wrote to the CEO and never even received the courtesy of a response. In my opinion this company has zero concern for customer satisfaction.

Poor communication and lots of mistakes

Home Depot continually made mistakes on my order, and after I repeatedly told both Jeremy, my Home Depot representative, and my installation workers that I needed my baseboards installed, nothing was done about it until the day they were supposed to be finished already. In addition, I was told that the workers would not be coming the Sunday during which my appointment was scheduled, and they showed up while I was out of town and I had to come all the way back to let them in. It was supposed to be done Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Monday. However, it took them Thursday through Tuesday night until 9 pm at night to get 500 square feet completed. That was extremely unacceptable to me. The floors look good except for a few gaps between floors and oddly put together baseboards, but I am overall very disappointed with the services I paid so much money for.

The Natural Hickory Engineered Hardwood Flooring is absolutely beautiful. I just can't get over how much we love it. The installation went very smoothly. The crew showed up on time, worked steadily, and did an outstanding job. They cleaned up completely after the job, even vacuuming the entire floor to ensure they didn't miss anything. Their craftsmanship and professionalism were excellent. We're completely satisfied.

Mediocore installation and result not as great considering the cost

We had problems as soon as we handed THD our credit card. We paid for the product to be delivered into our house and even had a note to the delivery man stating that it must be delivered into the house. It took 3 weeks for the product to arrive to our local Home Depot, in which I called everyday day during the third week. When It finally came in, they said there was no delivery scheduled to my house. When we got that straightened out, the delivery men who brought it TO the house refused to bring it INTO the house and just left it in the garage. So when I called to complain about it, the response I got was " the garage is considered crossing the threshold so the delivery men satisfied the order." So then I asked if it was okay to leave it in the garage for 2 weeks until the installers came. The answer of course was " no, the wood needs to acclimate to the environment in the house." So then why didn't you guys delivered it in the house like promised?! There was some back and forth with the management but we ended up having to move it into the house ourselves. Anyway, on to the installation. When the installers came, they noticed we were short a couple stair noses and told Home Depot about it the first day. For whatever reason, they waited until the whole installation was done before ordering the missing stair nose, which meant the installers had to come back later to install those. Why didn't they just order it when they found out? Then the installers ended up charging us extra because it was a lot of work to get our two stories leveled. I agreed to the extra charge but the second floor is still not completely leveled after they finished. There are noticeable dips in a couple areas. Some of the planks ended up sitting a little higher than others, which I believe is due to the floor not being completely level. When I brought this up, I was told that because it's engineered wood, not all the planks are the same thickness. Isn't engineered wood engineered and quality controlled so that they are all uniform? Seems like an excuse to me. After they finished installing everything and left, I noticed a couple of places where the wood was chipped in the corners and on one of the boards there was a huge scratch about 2 inches long and a crossing scratch that was almost just as long. This was either done by them or it was existing and they installed it anyway. I showed this to them when they came back to put in the last stair nose and all they did was use the repair kit on it. They did not want to replace the plank because they would have to remove the quarter rounds as well as several rows of wood. Horrible. New floors and already a scratch that wasn't caused by us. Considering the price for the material and installation, I am very disappointed that we ran into all these issues.

Love my new floor

Bought the Bruce tavern grade hardwood floor. I am very pleased with it. Home Depot exceeded my expectations, from the person that measured, the in-store associates (especially Andrew W., he was super!!) to the people that scheduled the installation (Bill)...and last but definitely not least, Bob and his team that did the installation. I cannot say enough about them. Totally professional and did a fantastic job on the install. The only con I had with the entire experience was with the people that called me with the actual estimate (the "1-800 I have your estimate people" if you can understand them) they were subpar and quite rude. Thankfully, Andrew W. at the Corning Home Depot dealt with them for me. I was very close to throwing in the towel, but glad I didn't (thanks, Andrew!).
