Not installed correctly 1st pass

Puzzling how an installer that pretty much works on one thing would not install a water heater correctly. Left a key part out of the install and we had only warmish water. Came back and "fixed it". We get hot water now but now it takes 10x longer to get hot than it did with the old one. Not sure what he did -will have to call to get them to come back.... again. Frustrating.

Fast same day service done neatly and efficiently

I couldn't have made a better decision then to go with Home Depot. Arrangements were made for product and service. It was done the same day, within a couple hours of the original call and was done neatly and efficiently by a friendly and helpful Mike. He answered all questions professionally and cleaned up after himself. You only knew he had been there by the hot water that I didn't have before. Keep up the awesome service!

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common water heater replacement questions

How do I know if I need a new water heater?

There are several signs that may indicate your water heater might be failing: water buildup in or around your water heater, water-quality issues, or the unit no longer provides the same temperature or duration of hot water as it did in the past. An in-home inspection can determine whether or not you need to install a new water heater.

What factors should I consider when replacing a water heater?

Your installer will help you consider the right fuel source (gas or electric), storage capacity (30 to 80 gallons available), tank type (tank or tankless), and warranty (The Home Depot offers 6, 9, and 12-year warranties).

What's the difference between gas water heaters and electric ones?

Gas water heaters usually cost less to operate, but are slightly more expensive upfront and less efficient overall. On the other hand, electric water heaters cost more to operate, but are more efficient and offer higher energy-factor ratings.

How long can I expect my water heater to last?

The Home Depot sells water heaters and, depending on what model you purchase, some come with a manufacturer's warranty. Please reference the product materials that came with your unit.

Can I install a water heater myself?

It is recommended that you hire a licensed, professional to install your water heater. Improper installation of a water heater could cause catastrophic damage or injury if the unit is not installed properly. Be sure to use a trained professional by scheduling an in-home inspection.
