Determine which rooms you would like to organize: office, bedroom, utility room or living room.
Determine shelving area and measure height and width.
Estimate weight of items: use Twin Track for higher weight loads,
Determine how many shelves you want or need.
Determine the type of wall you are installing into: drywall or concrete. BE SURE to use a hammer drill and concrete screws when mountinge.
Determine where the studs are located. Mounting into studs allows you to maximize weight capacity.
Choose shelving color to match your décor: Options include white, black, natural or hazelnut.
Choose hardware options color: white, black, satin or nickel.
Rubbermaid Upright sizes: Twin Track: 25”, 47.5”, 70”: Single Track: 24”, 35”, 46”, 68
TOOLS REQUIRED:
Drill,
pencil, level, mallet, hammer, Rubbermaid hardware packs, uprights, brackets
and shelves
Recommended: Install shelving system into studs.
Use level to draw a line on the wall where the top of the tracks are going to be hung.
Place the first track against the wall (the top matching with your level line).
Use the #12 x 2.5” screw in your hardware pack to secure the track into the wall.
Place the second upright 16” apart from the first upright and repeat steps above.
Place the brackets where desired on the uprights.
Make sure brackets are in the same place in each upright to ensure level shelving.
Distribute shelving on the brackets.
Remember shelf placement is adjustable. You can space them out differently or add more shelves in the future.
If using TwinTrack, you may secure shelves to brackets. Use #6 x 1.25 screw (front) and #6 x 2" screw (back)
Place your items on your custom shelving system.
