Blitz USA Recalls Enviro-Flo™ Plus Fuel Containers Due to Fire Hazard
The recall involves green Enviro-Flo Plus spouts used with 1 and 2 gallon fuel containers. Only spouts with manufacture date codes listed from 04/17/2009 through 04/19/2009 are included in the recall. The manufacture date code is etched into the side of the spout. The spouts were used on fuel containers with item numbers 81005 (1 gallon) and 81010 (2 gallon) printed on the labels. Date codes affected include:

Name of Product: Intermatic Model ST01 and EI600 In-wall Electronic Timers
Units: About 240,000
Manufacturer: Intermatic Inc., of Spring Grove, Ill.
Hazard: When consumers trying to replace the timer’s battery place a metal object through the battery tray slot, the object can reach internal metal contacts, posing a shock hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received twelve reports of consumers receiving a minor shock while changing the timer’s battery.
Description: This recall involves the Intermatic in-wall electronic timers with model numbers ST01, ST01C, ST01AC, ST01AC70, ST01C70, ST01CL, EI600C, EI600LAC, EI600LAC8, EI600WC, and EI600WC8. This product is a lamp and appliance timer and typically takes the place of a standard wall switch. The timer is white, off-white, or almond and measures 2 1/2 inches high by 1 3/4 inches wide. Model numbers can be found on the packaging and on the instruction. In-Wall timers are included in this recall if (1) the brand name “Intermatic” is molded on the front of the timer cover door, (2) the timer has only four keypad buttons, and (3) there is no 3-digit date code (e.g. “04C”) stamped on the inside of the timer cover door. Timers with a 3-digit date code (e.g. “04C”) stamped on the inside of the timer cover door are not included in this recall.
Sold at: Retailers and electrical distributors nationwide from March 2007 through June 2009 for between $25 and $45.
Remedy: Consumers should not attempt to change the in-wall timer’s battery until they receive the repair kit. Consumers should contact Intermatic to obtain a free repair kit with installation instructions.

Home Depot Offset Patio Umbrellas Recalled
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with The Home Depot, announced a voluntary recall of Offset Patio Umbrellas. Sold January 2009 through February 2009 for about $250. The patio umbrellas are beige with a brown offset pole, stand 11 feet tall with a brown cross base about 18 inches long. The patio umbrella and its pole could tip over and strike consumers if the umbrella’s collar or sleeve is not removed prior to closing the umbrella, posing a risk of impact injury to consumers. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled patio umbrellas and return them to any Home Depot store for a full refund.

This
recall involves Homelite brand chain saws with the following model numbers:

Affected chain saws have manufacture date between November 2007 and August
2008. Both the model number and the date of manufacture appear on the chain
saws data plate, located beneath the rear handle of the saw. Products with a
green "dot" sticker under the bottom side of the handle area and on the
outside of the package are not subject to this recall.

The model and serial numbers are printed
on a rating plate label on the rear of the grill. The cabinet style grill has
two doors and is silver-colored and black or silver-colored and gray. Blue
Ember is printed on the grill's hood. About 47,000 grills, manufactured by
Keesung Manufacturing Co. Ltd. and Unisplendor Corp., of China were affected.
They were sold at The Home Depot Stores nationwide from November 2007 through
June 2008 for about $450.
Consumers should immediately stop using the grills, and inspect the burner
hoses to make sure they have been properly assembled. If the hose is to the
rear of the installed heat shield, the grill has been improperly assembled and
consumers should contact Fiesta for replacement hoses, assembly instructions,
and if necessary, for assistance in examining the grill. For additional

Some of the products can prematurely deteriorate and break, posing risk of injury to consumers. These are composite products that look similar to natural wood and are sold in different colors including Driftwood Grey, Pacific Cedar, Tuscan Walnut, Western Redwood, Chestnut and Greystone. Veranda products subject to the advisory were sold at The Home Depot stores, primarily in the Western United States.

DEWALT Cordless
Brad Nailers
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission,
in cooperation with DEWALT Industrial Tool Co., of Towson, Md., announced a
voluntary recall of DEWALT DC608 Cordless Brad Nailers. Consumers should stop
using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. The nailer
can operate when the lock-off (safety) is in the locked position. Also, the
nailer can operate when the trigger is not pulled and the contact trip is
depressed. The unexpected ejection of a nail poses a serious injury hazard to
consumers. About 14,000 nailers were affected. These were manufactured in
Mexico and sold at wholesale distributors and retailers from October 2007
through May 2008 for about $280. DeWALT has received two reports of nailers
operating when the lock-off (safety) was in the locked position. No injuries
have been reported.
This recall involves the DEWALT DC608 18 Volt Cordless 2" 18 Gauge Straight Brad Nailer with date codes 200728 through 200821. “DC608” is located on the right side of the magazine. The date code can be found on the underside of the handle, once the battery pack is removed. Units stamped with an "M" following the date code are not included in this recall. Consumers should immediately stop using the nailers and contact DEWALT for the location of the nearest service center to receive a free repair.

Lawn Mowers by American Honda Motor Corporation
The
U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the American
Honda Motor Corp,, today announced a voluntary recall of certain Honda Lawn
Mowers. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless
otherwise instructed. The lawn mower's rear shield can break off allowing
debris to be thrown toward the operator, which poses a laceration hazard to
consumers. American Honda has received one report of a shield breaking off the
lawn mower. No injuries have been reported. Approximately 20,500 units,
manufactured by the American Honda Motor Corp., of Torrance, California. They
were sold by The Home Depot stores nationwide from October 2007 to June 2008
for about $900. This recall involves HRX walk-behind lawn mowers with model
numbers HRX217(K)2HXA and HRX217(K)2HMA. The model and serial number are
printed on a label located on the upper rear of the mower deck. Serial numbers
included in the recall are MAGA-1500001 through 1520532. The recalled lawn
mowers are red with (HONDA) written on the bag.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled lawn mowers and contact their local Honda Lawn and Garden dealer to schedule a free repair. Registered owners of the recalled lawn mowers have been contacted by direct mail notification.

About 7,500 units manufactured in China and distributed by Progress Lighting, of Greenville, S.C. were affected. The recall involves the International Series indoor (foyer) light fixtures. The light fixture has metal hardware and frosted white glass. The fixtures use either incandescent or fluorescent bulbs. Made in/Hecho en/Fabrique aux China and the model number are written on the packaging and inside the fixture canopy, which is attached to the ceiling. Model numbers involved are: P2854-09EBWB, P2855-09EBWB, P2856-09EBWB, P2859-09EBWB, P2860-09EBWB, P2861-09EBWB, P3443-09, P3444-09, P3445-09, P3789-09, P3790-09, P3791-09, P4263-09, P4264-09, P4265-09,P4265-09EXP.
The fixtures were also sold under the Thomasville Lighting brand name. They were purchased through electrical/lighting distributors and The Home Depot stores nationwide from January 2005 through March 2008 for between $290 and $1,150. Consumers who have either Progress Lighting™ or Thomasville Lighting™ recalled ceiling lights should carefully remove any of the glass, and contact Progress Lighting to schedule a free inspection and replacement.

The Home Depot has identified an issue
with some of its FM Weather Alert Radio, Flashlight & Cell Phone Chargers in
which the unit will not retain its charge. The units sold for $29.99 through
stores in the Florida and Gulf Coast Region from May 2007 through June 2007.
If you purchased one of these units, please return the unit to your local
store for a full refund.
Bathroom Medicine Cabinets
RSI
Home Products of Anaheim, California, has identified a problem with some of
their Medicine Cabinets. The medicine cabinet mirrors can separate and break,
posing a laceration hazard. RSI has received two reports of mirrors detaching
and breaking. No injuries have been reported. This recall involves one style
of bathroom medicine cabinets sold at The Home Depot. These include
MasterBath® cabinets with a wide variety of finishes and manufactured to
consumer specifications provided through The Home Depot. Approximately 8,600
units manufactured in the United States were affected. Of these some were sold
at The Home Depot Retail Outlet stores nationwide during September 2007 for
between $160 and $360 (MasterBath). Consumers should immediately remove and
safely dispose of the cabinet mirrors. Consumers should contact RSI to receive

Honda Lawn Mowers
Honda has
identified a problem with some of its lawn mowers in which a crack can occur
in the fuel tank causing a fuel leak. If gasoline leaking from the fuel tank
is ignited, a fire or explosion can occur. Honda has received six reports of
fuel leakage. No fires or injuries have been reported. The recall involves HRX
walk-behind lawn mowers with model numbers HRX217KHXA and HRX217KHMA. Only
serial numbers from 1400001 through 1453714 are included in the recall. The
model and serial number are printed on a label located on the upper rear of
the deck. The lawn mower is dark gray with a red engine cover. The affected
units were sold from January 2007 through September 2007 for between $800 and
$900. Consumers should stop using these recalled lawn mowers immediately and

Black & Decker Grasshog XP String Trimmer/Edgers
Black & Decker has identified a problem with its GH1000 Grasshog XP string trimmer/edgers in which the trimmer/edger's spool, spool cap and pieces of trimmer string can come loose during use and become airborne projectiles, posing a laceration hazard to the user as well as bystanders. The trimmer/edgers can also overheat posing a burn hazard to consumers. Trimmer/edgers with date codes 200546 through 200645 (representing manufacture dates of November 14, 2005 through November 6, 2006) are included in this recall. The date code is located on the underside of the trimmer/edger's handle. Only trimmers with black spool caps are included in the recall. Those with orange spool caps are not included in the recall. Black & Decker has received 707 reports of incidents, including 58 reports of injuries. Serious injuries included cuts to two consumers' legs that required medical attention. Minor injuries included bruises, lacerations, and facial injuries such as a welt and broken skin over a consumer's eye. There were also reports of property damage, including two broken windows. One World Technologies Throat Plates
One
World Technologies has identified a problem with its throat plates sold with
Ryobi router tables, in which the throat plates do not securely snap into the
router's table top bit opening. The throat plate can come loose during
operation and be ejected from the table top, posing a laceration hazard to
consumers. There have been three reports of throat plates coming loose during
use. Two consumers were struck on the nose by the throat plate and received a
minor cut and bruising. The recall involves Ryobi router tables, model number
RT101, which is written on the table's data plate on the table's front leg.
Consumers should check to see that the throat plate on their router table
securely snaps into the router bit opening. If it does not, consumers should
contact One World Technologies for a free replacement set of throat plates.

MTD Snow Throwers
MTD Products has
identified a problem with some of its two-stage compact snow throwers. If the
snow thrower's tires are over-inflated, the plastic wheel rims can burst and
cause injuries, including lacerations and fractures. The company has received
reports of 16 injuries to date. The affected snow throwers have two wheels and
come in red, green, gray or black. The model number is located on the rear
frame of the snow thrower. If you believe your snow thrower may be one of

Hampton Bay® Transitional Collection Fire Truck and Bulldozer Accent Lamp with Night Lights
The Home Depot has identified a problem with Hampton Bay Transitional Collection fire truck and bulldozer accent lamps with night lights, which were sold between January-June 2006. The glass window of the fire truck and bulldozer night light can become dislodged, fall, and shatter, which poses a laceration hazard and a serious risk of injury if the glass pieces are ingested by a small child. No injuries have been reported. If you have one of these lamps, please return it to your nearest The Home Depot store for a full refund.
Forever-Glo Nite Lites Recalled
American
Tack & Hardware Co. Inc. (AmerTac) has identified a potential hazard with
select lights. An electrical short circuit in the light can cause it to
overheat, posing a fire or burn hazard. The recall involves Forever-Glo Nite
Lites with model numbers 75001 and 75002 (C8A5) and a manufacture date of
April 2004 or later. The affected models were sold from May 2004 through
December 2005. Discontinue use immediately and contact AmerTac at
1-800-420-7511 for a full refund or two free replacement nite lites.
Porter-Cable® 7-1/4 inch MAG-Saw™ Circular Saws
Porter-Cable
has identified a potential hazard with 7-1/4 inch MAG-Saw Circular Saws. The
lower guard on these saws could stick in the open position, posing a risk of
severe lacerations. The recall involves model numbers 324MAG (serial numbers
10001 through 108962), 325MAG (serial numbers 10001 through 014712), 423MAG
(serial numbers 10001 through 100371), and 424MAG (serial numbers 10001
through 012690). The affected products were sold from March 2004 through
November 2005. Discontinue use and contact Porter-Cable at 1-800-949-7930 for
a free inspection and repair, if necessary.
Charmglow Gas Grill Model 720-0036-HD-05 Recalled
Nexgrill
Industries Inc. has identified a potential hazard with select Charmglow gas
grills (model 720-0036-HD-05). The hose connecting the propane tank with the
manifold may run too close to the firebox, potentially causing the hose to
leak gas or catch fire. The grills were sold at The Home Depot stores between
November 2004 and June 2005. Contact Nexgrill Customer Service at

Skil® Table Saw Model 3400
Robert
Bosch Tool Corporation has identified a potential product hazard with select
Skil Table Saws, Model 3400. In some units the blade drive mechanism may
loosen or the motor may separate from the tool, potentially resulting in
property damage or injury. Only Skil® table saws with model number 3400
printed on the front side of the table base with 2002 date codes 28501-28831,
2003 date codes 38101-39231 or 2004 date codes 48101-48811 printed on the
upper right corner of the table base are affected. The affected products were
sold between February 2003 and October 2004. Contact Robert Bosch Tool

SMC 18-Inch Oscillating Fans
SMC
and Home Depot U.S.A., Inc. in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety
Commission (CPSC), are voluntarily recalling SMC 18-inch oscillating fan
models SR-18 and SP-18.
