Should I keep my sales receipt?

Although we don't require a sales receipt to obtain service, it is a good idea to keep your receipt. Your receipt includes valuable information that may be needed to confirm coverage with the manufacturer or to ensure that your registration is accurate. Simply keep your receipt with your other paperwork for safekeeping.

Will my repairs be handled by The Home Depot?

The Home Depot and your plan administrator will locate a service technician in your area from our list of verified service technicians. Simply call 1-800-HOMEDEPOT to schedule service under your plan.

What happens if my product needs to be replaced?  Should I take it back to the store?

If your covered product needs to be replaced, you are not required to return it to a retail store. Just visit www.homedepot.com/protectionplans to file your claim or call 1-800-HOMEDEPOT and we'll be happy to talk with you about our replacement process.

How do I file a claim?

Visit www.homedepot.com/protectionplans or call 1-800-HOMEDEPOT and we'll give you information and steps to follow to either repair or replace your covered product.

How are the Replacement Plans and the Repair Plans different?

A Replacement Plan covers the replacement of your product in the event the product experiences a covered breakdown which is not concurrently covered under any insurance policy or any other service contract. We may replace your product with a Home Depot gift card or check for the original purchase price of that product, including taxes, as indicated on your sales receipt.

A Repair Plan, except for Non-Lifetime Water Heaters, covers parts and labor costs to repair your product in the event your product experiences a break which is not concurrently covered under any insurance policy or any other service contract. Non-Lifetime Water Heaters cover labor only for the duration of the plan. If we determine that we cannot repair your product as specified in the plan, we may replace it with a Home Depot gift card or check for the original purchase price of the product, including taxes, as indicated on your sales receipt. Non-original manufacturer’s parts may be used for repair of the product if the manufacturer’s parts are unavailable or more costly. Please refer to the terms and conditions for additional details.
