Low growing, 4-6 in. tall, spreading perennial with unique, pink and white-striped flowers, which appear in profusion in late spring, completely engulfing the foliage with their color. Butterflies are attracted to the blooms. Forms a very dense mat of evergreen foliage, which can be used to control soil erosion on slopes. Plant in most, well drained soils in full sun. Shear plants back after flowers fade. Use as a border or groundcover (plant 12 in. apart) in poor, dry soil where other plants fail to thrive.
