Description:
Upright, vase shaped, multi stemmed, deciduous shrub with three lobed, medium green leaves. Best known for its long bloom period from early summer to mid fall. Showy, hollyhock like, clear pink flowers are ruffled, thickly pealed, and have a dark red eye. Grows 6 to 8 ft. tall and wide; may be trained as a small tree or espalier. Use in mass, in a group, or as a specimen. Easily grown in average, moist, well drained soils in full sun to part shade, although its best flowering occurs in full sun. Very tolerant of summer heat and humidity, and can also handle some poor soils and some drought. Prune to shape in spring.
