This hardy, rounded and wide spreading deciduous to evergreen Oak is well adapted to the hot temperatures and dryness of the south. Suitable to a wide range of soils, this tree will grow in very dry to occasionally wet soil. Very easy to grow, but can be susceptible to freeze damage in climates under 0°F. Mature specimens have dense broad crowns that reach heights of 60 ft. and spreads of up to 80 ft. This item is shipped bare-root which means it is dormant, with no leaves, no soil, and the roots are exposed. Winter planted bare-root trees are more economical due to ease of handling and transporting.
