Description:
Originally used in ancient times in arid climates, a rounded Olla (pronounced “oy-yah”) pot is designed to provide water directly to a plant’s roots, thereby reducing the amount of water used for irrigation. The pot is made of porous, unglazed clay, and is buried neck deep adjacent to annuals, perennials, and other live plants. Simply fill with water, which will gradually seep out through the permeable clay to saturate the surrounding underground soil, thereby supplying a constant water source to the plant’s roots. A super-easy, trouble-free, irrigation solution for drought prone areas, dry sandy soils, raised beds, container and patio plantings, herb and vegetable gardens, between annuals and perennials in the landscape, near young shrubs, or in hanging baskets.
