Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, and CFLs for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
LED lights in your local store cut energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives such as wind and solar.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to our local communities and the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

Is there a sale on vanities?
During our vanity sale, which is part of The Home Depot Bath Sale running from January 2nd through February 19th, you can choose a vanity without a top or a vanity with a sink and countertop. Remember to upgrade your shower heads and faucets to match. You can even have our pros do the countertop installation or vanity installation for you if you'd prefer. Don't miss the sale that can help you improve your bathroom for years to come.
Why should I get a generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for whatever circumstances life throws at you. Whether dealing with strong winds, severe thunderstorms, or snowstorms, a portable generator lets you enjoy electricity after the elements knock it out. When considering different generators for sale, remember that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. Always run your generators outdoors, away from windows and doors, for safety purposes.
Should I make siding repairs before it gets cold?
Ready your home for winter weather by replacing or repairing faulty parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in any crevices, you could be in for a real headache. Check cinder blocks and brick for cracks, and verify indoor ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. On the outside of your home, examine metal roofs or roofing shingles for rust or damage that could let water in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams. Lastly, change vinyl siding and chimney caps if damaged.
Do you have doorbell cameras?
Enjoy peace of mind, safety, and privacy with a wireless or wired doorbell camera. No more peeking through a nearby window or peephole when you can see visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you talk to whoever is on your doorstep via your phone, which is useful for delivery people or to scare off potential porch pirates. Many cameras integrate with your smart home hub or app to give you flexible accessibility. Choose to save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.
