Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.
Our stores sent approximately 5.3M pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63.5K trees. It kept over 16K trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saved over 50M gallons of water, and conserved 7.8M kilowatt hours of electricity.
Since 2010, we have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers. This commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment, as well as our communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our eco actions.

Is The Home Depot having a winter bath sale?
The Home Depot Winter Bath Savings Event runs from 1/2/25–2/19/25, and it covers so many items that you could also call it a vanity sale or a toilet sale. Remember to replace your bathtubs, showers, and floor and wall tile to match. You can make the whole process even simpler when you contact our pros for toilet installation or vanity installation — then all you have to do is appreciate your beautiful new bathroom.
Why should I get a generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for any circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether dealing with blizzards, severe thunderstorms, tornados, hurricanes, or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy electricity when the elements take it out. When searching generators for sale, keep in mind that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. Always run your generators outdoors, away from doors and windows, for safety purposes.
What home repairs should I make before winter?
Make sure your home is ready for cold weather by repairing or replacing faulty parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in any crevices, you could have problems. Check cinder blocks and brickwork for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. On the outside of your home, examine metal roof panels or roofing shingles for rust or damage that could let water in. Gutters should be clear to prevent ice dams. Lastly, vinyl siding and chimney caps should be swapped out if they're damaged.
Does The Home Depot sell doorbell cameras?
Enjoy peace of mind, safety, and privacy with a wireless or wired doorbell camera. No more peeking through the peephole or a nearby window when you can see human or animal visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you talk to whoever is on your doorstep via your phone, which is useful to scare off potential porch pirates or talk to delivery people. Many cameras integrate with your smart home hub or app to give you easy accessibility. Save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.
