Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, and CFLs for recycling.
Our stores sent approximately 5.3M pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This has helped the planet by preserving over 63.5K trees. It kept over 16K trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saved over 50M gallons of water, and conserved 7.8M kilowatt hours of electricity.
LED lights in your local store cut energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives such as wind and solar.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment, as well as our local communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our eco actions.

Is there a sale on bath vanities?
Our bath sale runs from 1/2/25–2/19/25, and it covers so many items that you could also call it a toilet sale or a vanity sale. Remember to replace your floor and wall tile, showers, and bathtubs to match. You can make the whole process even easier when you contact our pros for vanity installation or toilet installation — then all you have to do is appreciate your beautiful new bathroom.
Do I need a generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for any circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether dealing with snowstorms, severe thunderstorms, or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy power when the elements knock it out. When searching generators for sale, don't forget that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. Always run your generators outdoors, away from doors and windows, for safety purposes.
Why should I repair my roof before the cold sets in?
Make sure your home is ready for colder weather by replacing any faulty or broken parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in the crevices, you could be in for a real headache. On the outside of your home, examine metal roof panels or roof shingles for rust or damage that could let water leak in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams. Check cinder blocks and brickwork for cracks, and verify indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. Lastly, swap chimney caps and vinyl siding if damaged.
Why should I get a doorbell camera?
Enjoy privacy, peace of mind, and safety with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. No more peeking through a window or peephole when you can see animal or human visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you talk to whoever is on your doorstep via your phone, which is useful to scare off wannabe porch pirates or talk to delivery people. Several cameras integrate with your smart home hub or app to give you easy and flexible accessibility. Choose to save video clips for future reference as needed and worry less with more control.
