Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, CFLs, and lead acid batteries for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This has helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to our local communities, as well as the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our eco actions.

Is there a sale on bathroom vanities?
During our vanity sale, which is part of The Home Depot Bath Sale running from January 2nd through February 19th, you can choose a vanity without a top or a vanity with a sink and countertop. Remember to upgrade your shower heads and faucets to match, too. You can even have our pros do the countertop installation or vanity installation for you if you'd prefer. Don't miss the sale that can help you improve your bathroom for years to come.
What's on sale for Presidents Day?
Freshen up your appliances now and enjoy them for years to come. Our Presidents Day Appliance Sale includes washing machines and dryers, so it's your solution for kitchen and laundry appliance upgrades. Check out the impressive bargains on our fridges, freezers, dishwashers, and more, too. It's easy to shop the sales that run from February 13th to March 5th with our mobile app or at your local store.
Why should I get a generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for whatever circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether you're dealing with strong winds, blizzards, or severe thunderstorms, a portable generator lets you enjoy power after the elements take it out. When browsing generators for sale, keep in mind that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. For safety purposes, always run your generators outside, away from windows and doors.
What home repairs should I make before it gets cold?
Ready your home for winter weather by replacing or repairing broken parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in any crevices, you could be in for major repairs later. On the outside of your home, examine metal roof panels or roof shingles for rust or damage that could let water leak in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams. Check bricks and cinder block for cracks. Indoors, verify ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. Lastly, change vinyl siding and chimney caps if they're damaged.
Do you have doorbell cameras?
Enjoy safety, peace of mind, and privacy with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. No more peeking through an adjacent window or peephole when you can watch visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you chat remotely via your phone, which is useful to scare off would-be porch pirates or talk to delivery people. Several cameras integrate with your smart home hub or app to give you flexible and easy accessibility. Choose to save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.
