Recycling at Home Depot

Did you know?

eco_image

Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.

eco_image

Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.

We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.

The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment and our communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our eco actions.

Does my local Home Depot still offer Kids Workshops?

Kids Workshops are free in-store events that take place every first Saturday of the month between 9am–noon. Registration for workshops is now available online. We have a new kit pack every month to keep your little doer engaged. Kits include all necessary craft materials, kit instructions, certificate of achievement, stickers, an apron pin, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Any required tools, such as paint, are provided at the workshop. Customers who prefer not to participate in the in-person event can pick up their free kit in-store or order online at our Kids Projects Activities page to have it shipped to their home. Visit our customer service counter or call us to check availability of the kits.

Store manager at East Liberty is unprofessional
I asked for the store manager to help the front returns clerk and he was insulted that I implied the returns clerk was incompetent. Then he called the police. I talked to them and they were very professional.

    Neighborly & Friendly Staff
I have found very consistently that the staff at East Liberty Home Depot really rocks it as far as being very helpful & keeping a sense of friendliness & a sense of humor about them. Also, the multitude of items they offer is well organized and well positioned in the store. I choose this particular big box store over others for these reasons...

      Bugs in Plants
Purchase a live potted palm and when got home found that the roots and bottom of the pot had bugs - earwigs. Called store for refund and was advised to bring plant back. No longer have plant, and live in a different state as plant was purchased as a gift for someone local to that store. Cannot believe they can't address this issue. I also advised them to check the other plants, because this was definitely due to extreme overwatering. Warning not to purchase houseplants from this location.

Go somewhere else. Management takes customers for granted
They shut down self checkout so now customers must wait 10-25 min just to checkout. Consumers might not care, but for the pro, a half hour of waiting is a half hour of not making money. At my current rates I will rather drive somewhere else. This HD costs me $100 bucks a trip just to wait to check out

                Cashier avoids ringing people up
Had to hear cashiers personal life while she just stood there talking instead of ringing me up for 1 item. Maybe she should be up front to keep tabs on her and to work hard like the other cashiers. Had to listen to whole life story.

                  Amazing employees
James the store manager was great. He helped me after a few workers did not have the knowledge to help me. They all stopped but they did not have my answer. James helped me load my cart, pay quickly and load my car. Seriously amazing service. Yesterday I can for doors and Sam was the sweetest and helped me greatly too. Generally I stop in and talk to Rome and a few other guys. Also say hi and spot me out, ask about my dog and overall amazing people and workers. This Home Depot is lucky to have such great employees.

                    Non-profit organization
This location give out no Donations for educational training at all. Home depot says they participate in Donations and over 4 years I've never been approved for my Women's Power workshop.
