Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, CFLs, and lead acid batteries for recycling.
Our stores sent approximately 5.3M pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63.5K trees. It kept over 16K trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saved over 50M gallons of water, and conserved 7.8M kilowatt hours of electricity.
Since 2010, we have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates. This commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment and our communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our eco actions.

Is there a sale on bath vanities?
During our vanity sale, which is part of The Home Depot Bath Sale running from January 2nd through February 19th, you can choose a vanity without a countertop or a vanity with a sink and countertop. Remember to upgrade your shower heads and faucets to match, too. You can even have our pros do the countertop installation or vanity installation for you if you'd prefer. Don't miss the sale that can help you improve your bathroom for years to come.
Is it good to have a generator at home?
We've got the options you need when searching for a generator for sale. Inverter generators are quieter and cleaner than traditional portable generators. They'll adjust to the required load, making less noise when they create less power. When shopping for generators for sale, remember that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. Always run your generators outside, away from doors and windows, for safety purposes.
Why should I repair my roof before the cold sets in?
Make sure your home is ready for colder weather by repairing or replacing broken parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in the crevices, you could be headed for trouble. On the outside of your home, examine metal roofs or roofing shingles for rust or damage that could let water leak in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams. Check cinder blocks and brickwork for cracks. Indoors, ensure ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. Lastly, chimney caps and vinyl siding should be swapped out if they're damaged.
What benefits do doorbell cameras have?
Enjoy privacy, safety, and peace of mind with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. No more peeking through a window or peephole when you can see visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you talk to whoever is on your doorstep via your phone, which is useful to scare off wannabe porch pirates or talk to delivery people. Several cameras integrate with your smart home app or hub to give you easy accessibility. Save video clips for future reference as needed and worry less with more control.
