Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting plastic plant pots, CFLs, lead acid batteries, and rechargeable batteries for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used for composite decking materials, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers. This commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment, as well as our communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

Do you have Halloween lights?
Yes, we stock a variety of Halloween lights for indoor and outdoor use. Choose from solar, battery-operated, or plug-in Halloween lights. We also carry light-up Halloween props, including Halloween trees.
Should I get a portable generator or an inverter generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared for whatever circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether you're dealing with severe thunderstorms, snowstorms or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy power when the elements knock it out. When browsing generators for sale, remember that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. For safety purposes, always run your generators outdoors, away from doors and windows.
What home repairs should I make before winter?
Make sure your home is ready for winter weather by replacing any broken or faulty parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in any crevices, you could have problems. On the outside of your home, examine shingles or metal roof panels for damage or rust that could let water in. Gutters should be clear and functional to prevent ice dams. Check brickwork and cinder blocks for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. Lastly, chimney caps and vinyl siding should be changed if they're damaged.
Are garage cabinets or sheds better for storage?
As you prepare for the holidays, give yourself extra space in the house and stow away the rest. Garage cabinets keep decorations, tools, and more out of the way. Moving blankets protect fragile items as they're packed together. Shoe racks and other storage containers remove summer belongings from the equation. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you the right amount of space.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Gift cards to The Home Depot are an excellent present for birthdays, housewarming parties, and the holidays. DIYers know these gift cards are fun to receive and to give. You can purchase them online at homedepot.com or in our stores. If you receive a gift card, you can check your gift card balance online or visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you. Use our gift cards to shop online or redeem them in-store, all with no additional fees.
