Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used in composite decking, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
LED lights in your local store reduced energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like solar and wind.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers. This commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment and our local communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our eco actions.

How do I pick a real Christmas tree?
Look for vibrantly green trees that appear healthy. A good quality real Christmas tree shouldn't shed all its needles when you shake it, and the needles shouldn't look brown, patchy, or dry. Also, be sure to check that your tree is free of disease and insects, so examine any holes or knots in the wood carefully. We're your source for choosing the best real Christmas tree for your home.

Does the Mankato Home Depot still offer Kids Workshops?
Our free Kids Workshops take place in-store every first Saturday of the month between 9am and noon. You may secure your Kids Workshop kit by registering online for the event. We have a new kit pack every month to keep your little doer engaged. Kits include all necessary craft materials, kit instructions, certificate of achievement, stickers, an apron pin, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Any required tools, such as paint, are provided at the workshop. Customers who prefer not to participate in the in-person event can pick up their free kit in-store or order online at our Kids Projects Activities page to have it shipped to their home. Visit our customer service counter or call us to check the availability of the kits.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Gift cards to The Home Depot are a popular choice during the holiday season or for any reason. DIYers know they're fun to give and to receive. They can be purchased at our brick-and-mortar stores or online at homedepot.com. If you receive a gift card, you can check your gift card balance online or visit the Mankato Home Depot and ask a cashier to check the balance for you. Use our gift cards to shop online or redeem them in-store, all with no additional fees.
