Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, and CFLs for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This has helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
Since 2010, we have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates. This commitment extends beyond our stores to our communities, as well as the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our eco actions.

Which real Christmas trees are best for people with allergies?
If you're set on getting a live Christmas tree, the eastern white pine tends to be easier on people who have allergies. However, it depends on the severity of an individual's allergies. When pine allergies are the culprit, try a spruce, white fir tree, or even a Leyland cypress. Wash your tree with a hose and dry it off with a wet/dry vac before bringing it inside if possible, and find out more on how to choose the best live Christmas tree for you. As some people may be allergic to all real Christmas trees, you may want to get an artificial Christmas tree instead.

Does my local Home Depot still offer Kids Workshops?
Yes, the Massena store offers in-person Kids Workshops. These free in-store events take place every first Saturday of the month between 9am and noon. You may reserve your Kids Workshop kit by registering online for the event. Each month features a unique and exciting new kit pack to keep little doers engaged. Kits include all necessary craft materials, kit instructions, certificate of achievement, stickers, an apron pin, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Any required tools, such as paint, are provided at the workshop. Customers who prefer not to participate in the in-person event can pick up their free kit in-store or order online at our Kids Projects Activities page to have it shipped to their home. Call us or visit our customer service counter to order your kit.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
