Are Kids Workshops offered at the Oakbrook Terrace Home Depot?
Yes, the Oakbrook Terrace store offers in-person Kids Workshops. These free in-store events take place every first Saturday of the month between 9am-noon. Registration for kids workshops is now available online and secures your spot at the event. Keep little doers engaged with a new kit pack for each event. Included in the kits are all necessary craft materials, as well as instructions, stickers, an apron pin, a certificate of achievement, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Paint and all other required tools are provided at the event. Kits may be ordered online at our Kids Projects Activities page or picked up in-store if you prefer to participate in the workshop from home. Bad customer service
I stopped by the store, grab the items I was looking for, and use the self-service kiosk to pay for the items. The kiosk insisted if I wanted to get an e-receipt; I chose no and waited for the machine to give me my receipt. At that point, the kiosk failed to give me my receipt and ask for help. The lady there said that I haven't paid for the items. I said "I paid for the items, but the kiosk is not giving me the receipt". She continued to argue that I hadn't paid for the items and insinuated that I didn't know how to use the self-service kiosk. I said to her it's not my first time using the kiosk, and to stop arguing. The associated said to me "That's the end, I don't want to hear it" and she shush me. Her attitude change when I asked to speak with her manager. She said she's trying to help me out. I didn't want to argue, and allowed her to continue to assist me. The kiosk failed to provide a receipt a second and third time. The associate suggested using a different kiosk. I never had that experience before from a Home Depot associate; is this the customer experience I can expect at all Home Depot? Home Depot needs to do a better job training the staff in customer experience, and teach the associates to never argue with customers, and to never shush them like little kids.

              Problems with my store credit at self checkout
              Went in on Father’s Day Sunday for some gardening supplies I had a store credit from another Home Depot store and the manager said I could not use that here. Even though a week earlier I had used the same store credit card and had no issues. The manager Salysha was extremely rude and disrespected me in front of my younger sister and girlfriend. The manager cut my store credit card in half and said i couldn’t use the card. They attempted to confiscate my other store credit cards and refused to give me the corporate number. I came back later and spoke with Joe and Cindy who were much more helpful than Salysha who wouldn’t even give me a apology for being rude. Her customer service needs a lot of work. I am extremely disappointed to have to go through all this on Father day.

                Horrible experience
                I checked out with Denise and had a horrible experience. She was either unaware of her demeanor or did not care. When I approached the register she was leaning with her arms crossed and did not greet me or offer to assist with all of the items in my hands. I had a hard time bringing a coupon up because of my WIFI connection and she nearly groaned while waiting then said THERE I TOOK OFF THE $5. I was embarrassed and will not return to your store.

                    OAK BROOK TERRACE STORE
                    In these challenging times still, this store had ample supplies for the products we needed. Employees, YES employees!! were helpful and friendly. So many employers are short staffed, but not this store on the evening we went. Unfortunately though, the cost of our wood trip increased over 100% since we last purchased 14 months ago, but that was to be expected. It was still affordable compared to other stores.
