How Juicers Work

Centrifugal Juicers. Centrifugal juicers, or extractor juicers, use a blade to chop fruit and vegetables. The machine spins to push the juice through a fine mesh strainer. These machines are easy to set up and use. They can turn whole fruit into juice quickly. Some even automatically dispense the pulp. This allows you to juice greater amounts before you have to stop and clean the blades. 

Masticating Juicers. These powerful machines are sometimes called cold press juicers or slow juicers. No matter what you call them, these professional juicers deliver great results. They use an auger to extract juice slowly and efficiently. They can pull out more nutrient-rich juice than other machines. They’re a great choice for juicing leafy greens and dense fruits and vegetables. Although a bit pricier, these juicers are popular with juice purists and health enthusiasts. 

Keep in mind that some blenders and food processors also have juicer settings. Whether you want a small home juicer for occasional use or you’re looking for a heavy-duty machine for everyday life, a juicer is a great addition to your kitchen toolkit.
