What is the difference between an electric dryer and a gas dryer?
An electric dryer is completely powered through electricity and uses electrical currents that are sent through a coil to create heat. The heat is transferred to the surrounding air and forced through the dryer using a fan. Most electric dryers operate on a 240-volt current which is more powerful than the strength provided in a normal household outlet. To utilize an electric dryer a dedicated outlet must be installed. A gas dryer uses electricity to power the dum, fan and lights and uses natural gas or propane to generate heat. Within Black Dryers, we carry 4 gas dryers and 5 electric dryers. Check out our Washer and Dryer Dimensions for more information on electric and gas dryers.
