Comfort is always a top priority. When it comes to cooling off in the warmer months, there are several options to consider when choosing the right AC unit, dehumidifier or fan for your space.
Choose the Right Air Conditioner Unit
If you’re not sure which air conditioner to get for your space, start by using our BTU calculator to calculate the amount of power you’ll need. Depending on your space and weather conditions, you might be able to use a smaller wall air conditioner unit, window air conditioner or even a portable air conditioner. Most people prefer whole-home air conditioners (also known as central air conditioners), but that’s not always an option with the duct work required. For a little extra up front, ductless mini splits give the option of whole-home air conditioning, minus the duct work. You can even lower your bills by turning the unit off entirely in unused rooms.
A Fan Might Be All You Need
If you haven’t got a ceiling fan to help recirculate air in your room, consider purchasing a fan to draw out hot air and draw in cool air. Window fans work well for pulling hot air out of a room, as do box fans. Tower fans and pedestal fans usually have an oscillate feature that allows air to move from side to side, covering majority of the room. For the largest rooms, blower fans and industrial fans help cool down large spaces like auditoriums and gymnasiums. For hot days outdoors, don’t forget to get a misting fan to keep cool!
