How often should I fertilize my lawn?
The right application frequency depends on your type of grass, soil health, and choice of fertilizer. Fertilize cool-season lawns like Kentucky bluegrass, fescue, and ryegrass two to four times a year, in early and late spring and fall. Fertilize warm-season grasses like Bermuda, Zoysia, and St. Augustine three to five times per year, in late spring, mid and late summer, and early fall. Apply slow-release fertilizers once every 8 to 10 weeks, and quick-release fertilizers once every 4 to 6 weeks.
