Measure & Install
Schedule An Appointment
Measure in three places for width –
top, middle and bottom. Then again for
height – left, middle and right.
Make note for the narrowest width and
longest height. Measure window depth
to make sure you have enough room.
You’ll need at least 2 inches above the
frame for mounting brackets.
Measure the overall area to be covered.
Add an extra 3 inches to the width and
height for ideal light and privacy control.
Your window shades can do so much more than just look amazing. They'll help you control light, give you privacy and reduce your energy bills.
Choosing the Right Window Shades
It's easy to find a window shade style to go with your decor. Get the soft classic look of folded fabric in a roman shade. Or go for bamboo shades to bring a natural look to your room. No matter what style you decide on — cellular shades or pleated shades — you have a huge selection to choose from at The Home Depot.
Shade Innovations & Features
Do you have a bright, street light right outside your window that interrupts your sleep? Or do you work at night and need to sleep during the day? We offer blackout shades and light filtering shades to keep the darkness in and lights out. Shade technology has evolved. With motorized shades, it’s now possible for you to open and close your shades with the touch of a button from anywhere in your room. If you have children or pets in your home, consider cordless shades. They’re a safe option since there’s no pull cord.
Custom Cut In Store & Installation
There's no such thing as a standard window size. Make sure you measure your windows before you buy window treatments. If you have unique window shapes and sizes, we can help you get your own look with custom shades. Our in-store associates can cut your shades to size, for free. If you need or want custom window treatments, we’ll be there to help every step of the way, from designing to measuring to installation.
