How to Build a Vertical Garden with Terra Cotta Pots
Time Required: Under 2 hours
Sooner or later, most gardeners have to grow up. That doesn’t mean we stop gardening; it means we run out of room. When we’ve filled every bed, border, and pot, it’s time to literally grow up by planting vertically.
Vertical gardens save space on porches, decks, and patios. Plant them with herbs and keep them near an outdoor grill or in your kitchen. Use them to screen a view, add color to to a plain wall, or to keep houseplants near a sunny window. They’re easy to assemble. Just add imagination, and the sky’s the limit.
NOTE: The pots shown here have rims. The pots currently available in our materials list do not have rims. To adjust for the project, drill a 1/2″ hole from the top of each pot. This is where you’ll insert the S-hooks. Add potting soil to the pots, filling each about halfway.
