Installing cellular or honeycomb shades is easy. All you need is a sharp pencil and a screwdriver. For easier installation, a cordless power screwdriver or a drill with a 1/4-inch Hex head drill bit is recommended.Â
Read the included instructions for details about your custom window treatments. You'll need to choose an inside mount installation or an outside mount installation before you measure, order and install them. For additional installation instructions, see our cellular installation PDF.Â
Use this guide to learn how to install cellular shades for an inside mount or outside mount.
Installation for an Inside Mount

- Cellular shades are easy to install for an inside mount. A screwdriver is all you need to install your shades, or, for an easier installation, you can use a cordless screwdriver or a drill with a 1/4-inch Hex head drill bit.Â
- Before starting, carefully unpack your shades and mounting hardware. To familiarize yourself with the contents of your box, check the printed instructions included with your product.Â
- Begin your installation by positioning your mounting brackets 2 1/2 inches in from each side of your window along the top of the window opening. Line up the front of each bracket so that they are even. Mark where your screws will go by lightly tapping starter holes into the mounting surface through the top slot of the bracket, and then fastening the supply screws for each one. Use any additional center-support bracket that may be included. The proper number of brackets will be included based on the width of your shade.Â
- Install your head rail by hooking the front of your bracket and rotating it down to snap into place.Â
- Finish by lowering and testing your new shade. To lower your shade, pull the cord toward the center of your shade and slowly raise your hand while holding onto the cord. To raise your shade, pull the cord away from the shade at any angle.Â
- That's it. It's that easy.
Installation for an Outside Mount

- Begin your installation by positioning your shade on the wall surface where you want it to be mounted. Mark the top of the head rail 2 1/2 inches in from the left and right outside edges of your shade with a pencil. Align the top of your left bracket along the inside of your pencil line and fasten to the wall with the supplied screws. Repeat with the right. Use any additional center-support bracket that may be included. The proper number of brackets will be included based on the width of your shade.Â
