Tips for Growing a Greener Lawn in the South

Fertilize Warm-Weather Grasses in Fall:

1.  Choose a lawn fertilizer for warm-weather grasses that’s high in nitrogen (N) and has very little or no potassium (P), like 32-0-10.

2.  Look for a fertilizer with iron to help feed and strengthen Southern lawns, helping them withstand heat and drought. Apply fertilizer with a broadcast spreader, half in horizontal rows and the other half in vertical rows.

3.  Run a sprinkler over the lawn for 30 minutes to encourage the fertilizer to soak in.
