Our Trick To Make Holiday Decor Easy!
Whether you love to fill the entire house (and yard!) with holiday decorations, or just choose a few small spots to admire, holiday decorating can be a joyous part of the year — especially if you choose items that help make the process a little easier for everyone.
I used the Hubspace outdoor plug system, which can only be found at The Home Depot, to make my front door decorations come to life with the push of a button. And, I get to control exactly when they turn off and on from the warmth of my fireplace inside — yay!
The Hubspace plug was super easy to connect to the Hubspace app (just scan the QR code in the box it comes with in the app and it will find the product for you). Once I quickly and easily paired the plug with my phone, I could control the lights instantly from the app — all in less than 60 seconds!
In the app, you can control each outlet separately and set a schedule for when you want the lights off and on, which is super handy to have at your fingertips. You don't have to be a tech wizard to set it up and there's no hub required to connect (although it is compatible with most virtual assistant devices.
Doesn't the front door look so festive? I added this pre-lit garland to go around the doorway, this beautiful large wreath to be a statement piece and add some color, and these pre-lit trees on either side of the door (I love a front door flanked with lit trees!!).
I hung thesesnowflake lights along the ridge of our house and added thisblow-up reindeer because I knew my 5-year-old would LOVE it (and I was right!). And what's a holiday front door display without afestive doormat, right?!
Overall, I love being able to add holiday touches to just about every area of my house, but the front door is what really makes a statement as your visitors come in.
