Most Troy-Bilt rear tine tillers have a cast-iron encased, bronze gear transmission that is engineered for heavy duty performance and is covered by a limited lifetime warranty. Rear tine tillers are best for breaking new ground and powering through hard-packed, challenging soil in medium to large garden beds. Front-tine tillers and cultivators are more compact, making them best for tasks in small to medium existing garden beds. If clearing leaves, sticks and other debris from your yard is a priority, Troy-Bilt's chipper shredders and chipper vacuums can make that easier and provide nutrient-rich garden mulch or compost at the same time. The chromium steel chipper blades and cast-steel flails quickly chip through branches and reduce the amount of yard waste. The Troy-Bilt chipper vacuum features an on-board vacuum hose to help you easily clean out corners, tight spots and under shrubs.
