The Home Depot Rental Center at Boise

Start your home improvement project with confidence and the correct tools. Let The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Boise fill in the gaps in your toolbelt with the items you don't have on hand. Rent a tool and return it when you've completed the project. If you need to add those tools in your toolbox permanently, inquire about buying our retired rental tools. Compared to the new items on our store shelves, they're discounted.

Make Painting Easier with Rental Ladders and Scaffolding
Make the most of warmer weather to paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get optimal coverage fast and renew surfaces. Ladder rentals help you reach high places when painting houses, sheds, and fences. We carry step ladders and extension ladders for small to medium jobs, so you won't have to wait when inspiration strikes.

Tame the Lawn and Greenery
Keep up with summer growth with outdoor power equipment rentals. Neaten the lawn with a lawn mower and get that sidewalk and driveway clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be looking fresh in no time.

Load 'N Go Trucks
If you're renting a large tool but don't have room in your vehicle, let us help with that, too. Check out our Load 'N Go rentals and rent a truck. Don't take up room in the driveway with an old pickup truck for times you need to move something. Just rent what you need when you need it and keep your driveway open for grilling, hopscotch, or a game of catch with the family.

How do I rent tools or trucks?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what's available. If you want confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a truck or tool. You might also check out our truck rental or tool rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your local store. For more info on renting tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, which includes terms and conditions for the equipment.

Can I rent tools by the hour?

You can rent a tool for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the week, month, or day, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I bring the tools back?

It's fine to return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need them longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

Can I rent a truck for a few hours?

Rent a pickup truck, van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Remember to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract and terms and conditions before choosing your truck.

Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?

Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Note the fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that level. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
