Location
When you're beginning to leap into a big home improvement job, you might not have the specialty tools you need in the workshop or shed. That's when you should stop by The Home Depot Burbank Tool Rental Center.
Tool Rental
Our tool rental choices enlarge your toolbelt and toolbox with the precise tools you need to complete your project. It's impractical to invest in a specialized tool when you're not using it at least once a week. When you're searching for a new tool, try it out first before you choose which to buy. Whatever your situation, we have just what you're looking for.
Tame the Lawn and Greenery Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the lawn and shrubs with rental lawn mowers and trimmers, and get that sidewalk and driveway clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be looking fresh and ready for new spring flowers before you know it.
Make Painting Easier with Ladder and Paint Sprayer Rentals
Take advantage of longer spring days and paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get optimal coverage fast and renew surfaces. Rent ladders and scaffolding to reach high locations when painting fences, houses, and sheds. We carry extension ladders and step ladders for medium or smaller jobs, so you won't have to wait when inspiration strikes.
Truck and Cargo Van Rentals
To make it easier to transport large tool rentals, we keep trucks of all kinds ready to rent. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from flatbeds to pickup trucks to cargo vans. We'll have the right size for your project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your source for storage, packing, and DIY, it's simple to make us your go-to source for truck rental as well.
Box Truck Rentals
When you need a 12-foot box truck for a small move, we've got just what you need. It's a great solution for cross-town moves. Use it for transporting extra belongings to a storage space as well. Get your truck, pack it full, then return it to that same store when you're done.
Penske Moving Trucks
You're comfortable doing your home improvement jobs with us. Do the same when it's time to relocate. We offer Penske moving trucks in sizes ranging from 12 feet to 26 feet. Use our trucks to haul all your belongings — from a dorm to a city apartment to a 3-bedroom home.
Large Equipment Rentals
Complete massive projects with the right professional equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the boom lifts to give you a boost to the skid steers for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.
Although we're calling out specific tool, truck, and large equipment rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular tool in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent tools, trucks, or large equipment?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see which trucks or tools you can rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You may also check out our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your local store. For more information on renting tools or large equipment, read our Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent a tool or large equipment for an hour?
You can rent a tool or large equipment for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY jobs may only require a short rental period, and long-term projects aren't a problem either. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the month, week, or day, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I bring the tools back?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you complete your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any grime and dust from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a few hours?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you must return it to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the contract and terms and conditions before choosing a truck.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Note the fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck or large equipment?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.
How do I receive my large equipment rental?
Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment delivered straight to your job site for a reasonable cost — at your home or out in the field. We'll need at least 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented equipment and you'll need to rent it for a full day. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.
How do I avoid extra fees and penalties on my large equipment rentals?
Think of your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra hours or days you require.
