When it's time to make the leap into a big DIY project, you might not have everything you need to get the job done. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot El Dorado Tool and Truck Rental Center.
Tool Rental
Start your next home improvement project with confidence and the right tools for the job. Let The Home Depot El Dorado Tool Rental Center fill in the gaps in your toolbox with the tools you don't have on hand. Rent what you need and bring them back when you're done. If those rental tools just went from wanted to needed, we have used tools available for purchase. Compared to the new items on our store shelves, they're discounted.
Leaf Blowers
Try renting a leaf blower to maintain your yard. Fall will be here before you know it, so have a leaf blower ready. It's far less work than raking them into piles. It's also easy to use on concrete sidewalks, driveways, and hardscaping surfaces. Clear your yard by using backpack, walk-behind, or handheld leaf blowers.
Chainsaws
Preserve the beauty and safety of the trees and woody shrubs in your yard with a rental chainsaw. Since you might not need this tool every day, try renting it when it's time for some yard cleanup. It's much easier to spot any troublesome branches and do basic trimming once the leaves are off the trees. We carry gas and electric chainsaws, so we know you'll find one that fits the job.
Heaters
If you don't enjoy working or being outside in cooler temps, browse our heater rentals. Portable heaters keep outdoor events, barns, or workspaces warm. They are safer than torch patio heaters because they don't have an open flame, and they also blow the hot air for greater coverage. We offer electric, propane, and gas heaters in various sizes. Couple this with good outdoor lighting and a jacket, and you can extend work or play well into the evening hours.
Truck Rental
To move large tool rentals or anything else, we keep pickup trucks as well as Penske moving trucks ready for rental, with availability varying by store. You're sure to find the right size truck rental for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your trusted source for DIY projects, packing, and storage needs, it's easy to make us your go-to source for transport and moving as well.

How do I rent a tool or a truck?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see which tools or trucks you can rent. If you'd like to know what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool or truck. You may also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your local store. For more information on renting tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent a truck for a few hours?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to review the documentation before choosing your truck.
When can I bring the tools back?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean any residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Do saw rentals come with saw blades?
Yes, power saw rentals generally come with blades, but we do recommend that you purchase your own. Your rental likely won't come with a new blade. However, you may luck out and receive an excellent one. As there's no guarantee, it's better to buy a suitable blade, just in case you need it.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Note the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the truck, you have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
