Thanks for the teamwork and the applied detective work
I appreciated the graciousness, tenacity and teamwork of the Encinitas Home Depot Employees. I was referred to the service department when the bar code on my Coin Star voucher was determined to be unreadable. I knew I had already used the $200 voucher twice. Apparently, the ink rubbed off in my wallet. I was impatient, discouraged, embarrassed and ready to throw the faded voucher away. However, Erika had other ideas. She enlisted the advice of other service people and even made a call to management for ideas. Eventually, the team found a phone number for Coin Star. Additionally, they decoded a transaction number and a date from the faded voucher. I was surprised when Erika made the call to Coin Star and was even more surprised when a human answered! Minutes later, I had the missing number and access to the remaining $52.

Extremely helpful associates
They discontinued the cloth soaker hoses for those crappier rubber ones. The assistance provided by the associates is the only reason I plan on going back

Great lawn and garden
Went to this store for palm trees. Definitely best selection and quality of trees in any Home Depot I've been to. Store associate Ralph was a tremendous help when we needed help loading trees into vehicle. Will be back

Love this store. Only thing we don't like about Home Depot is the fact that some items are not available on line for delivery
We always find everything we need in the store or someone will help very readily. Only thing that bothers us with Home Depot is the inability to purchase certain items online and have them delivered. We have on a couple occasions had to go to a non- local store to pick up something. Seems like they should at least be able to transfer to our local store.

Encinitas Store
I really enjoy shopping at this HD. There always seems to be someone available to assist and in many case they will approach me and ask if they can help. The store is well laid out and am always able to find my way around. Check out is also very easy.

Couldn't Believe the Customer Service!
I was in "Aw" with my overall experience with their customer service!! An associate was available and helpful at every turn! If you haven't frequented because of their "lack" of service, please give them another try. You'll be amazed in the "new" transformation!! Good job!

Staffing Issues
Long line at garden check out cashier. Only one person on duty in garden area and he was forced to answer phone and answer questions in addition to his cashier duties. A 20 minute wait in line for customers is not good business. The main part of store had a number of employees floating around trying to look busy.

Great new feature on website to find product in store
When you find an article on the Home Depot website, it tells you where to find it in the store (aisle and bay), once you have selected your store location. This feature is so helpful to find stuff.

Return Cashier was very helpful.
I was happy with the plant guarantee and found the variety of colors and health of the plants to be wonderful. The cashier was attentive and offered paper to protect my car from soil spills.

Good store experience
Looking for materials to do some signs for our wedding. They were helpful to cut wood to the size I needed and even gave us some scraps of wood for free that we can use!

Great Sales Associates in Building Materials
Store associates Rebecca and Omar in Building Materials really knocked themselves to help me find the best stucco patch to repair the outside of my home before the rain next week. Big improvement in the quality of store associates in Encinitas -- thanks, also, to the new manager who I understand is partially responsible for the super customer service.

Not the place to shop for Christmas Lights this year
We went to purchase additional outdoor Christmas lights FOUR WEEKS before Christmas Day. We had purchased the same net lights from Home Depot, but found we needed a few more boxes. Not only was the holiday lighting wall so disorganized that boxes were filed under the wrong types and the aisle cluttered so you could not get around so easily, but the salesman in the section was neither friendly nor helpful. We have been frequenting this store for years. We have never experienced such apathy and unfriendliness.
After spending a good 15-20 minutes trying to locate a few boxes of warm white net lights ourselves and coming up empty, we asked a salesman if he could help us look. This is exactly how he responded: He pointed at the holiday lighting wall and stated, "The inventory there (point-point) is what is left. If you can't find it, it is probably out. You should have shopped a month ago when we had plenty." That is a direct quote. I was dumbstruck by the rudeness and attitude. It was two-three days BEFORE Thanksgiving. Do I really need to shop for outdoor holiday lights 60 days before Christmas in the future?
We left annoyed. I ended up purchasing lights from another store who properly allocated their inventory for the holidays.
We shop at Home Depot often for our home and rental properties' repairs so we are familiar with most of the faces Luckily, we did not recognize the salesman whose service was so underwhelming. I sure hope that the impolite salesman was just hired as temporary holiday help. If he is a new hire, someone needs to intervene. He was middle-aged, but honestly his behavior reminded both of us of an apathetic teenager at a job he really hates.

Always a good experience
The greeter at the door is always such a nice touch. He went out in the cold and got me a cart when I had just asked where they were. Returning items was met with a pleasant smile and she was very curteous. Hmm, I need a spell check!
It was a Sunday so there were not as many people to help you.
