Why is there cold air coming in around the door?
If you have cold air seeping in under the door, you'll want to fix it to prevent higher heating bills and keep your house cozy. When a house settles unevenly, pieces that once fit snugly can go off-kilter. Gaps can form around the sides of doors or the thresholds may loosen with time. Fill the space with weather stripping or foam tape, and caulk any cracks in the wooden door frame. If you're still feeling drafts around the door, place an insulated fabric door snake along the ground.

What can I work on when it's cold outside?
In colder climates, it's challenging to work outdoors. However, cleaning up the yard before spring gives the earth time to resettle before plants start growing again. An afternoon cleaning the basement or garage will pay off when spring comes. You won't have to replace lost tools because you can find what you've got. Polish up the tools, clean the rest of the house with cleaning supplies, and you'll be ready when it's planting time.

How do I prepare for snow and freezing temperatures?
When you live in a region where snow may occur, it's smart to upgrade or organize your snow removal equipment before a big storm hits. Have a gas can ready to top off your gas snowblower if it's not already filled for the season, or check the battery on your electric snowblower. Don't forget to get out the sleds for the kids, and prep salt or ice melt and a salt spreader. Make sure your outdoor spigots are covered and drained, too, with all hoses disconnected. This basic prep keeps you ready for whatever winter weather brings.

How do I check my Home Depot gift card balance?
Home Depot gift cards are an excellent present during the holiday season or for any occasion. DIYers know they're fun to give and to receive. Purchase them at our stores or online at homedepot.com. If you're a recipient, you can check your gift card balance online or visit the Eugene Home Depot and ask a cashier to check the balance for you. Use our gift cards to shop online or redeem them in-store. There are no additional fees to worry about.

Customer NO service
Today I bought an item , when I paid for it , the price was more than what I thought it said . Two hours later my client needed more of that item I went back only to see I was correct . When I went to customer service this young woman with green hair told me it was not her problem take it up with the cashiers . I told her I wanted a refund on the overcharge. She said you can not without a reciept . I pulled out my reciept then the told me that I told her I slammed down my money and left without a reciept . She argued this until I asked for the manager . She needs to work away from people

Measure Once, Cut Twice: A Carpenter’s Nightmare
Yesterday, I asked an employee at this Home Depot to cut some lumber for me. Everything about him made me feel like he wanted to get rid of me. His tone of voice, his facial expression, his speech, his insistence that I needed to go to customer service BEFORE coming to him, when I had just told him that I came FROM customer service for lumber cuts on an online order I had already paid for. I then asked him for a series of 47” and 17 1/2” cuts, and every single cut varied from 1/4” off to 3 1/2” off. Every. Single. Piece. Of. Wood. Was. Ruined. Forget “no precision cuts”, this was “we’re gonna cut your wood however we feel like cutting it.” Considering I had already paid for the product he had no room for mistakes, and yet every single one of my boards was just miserably useless. I chopped the wood up and threw it in the dumpster at work the next day. My project was ruined. My hard earned money basically put through a paper shredder. The once quality employees at this store have moved on to better positions and its clear that their replacements are not even remotely sufficient. This was my worst home improvement store experience, EVER.

            Awesome employee: FRAN
FRAN at the Green Acres Home Depot in Eugene, Oregon was terrific. Enthusiastic, insightful, clever and fun. She jumped right in to help me solve a vexing problem by McGuyver-ing together a unique solution to an unusual and urgent problem. AND IT WORKED PERFECTLY!

                  Flooring
I had a bad experience with another Home Improvement store on the handling of my vinyl planking order. I had heard that Home Depot had good service in the flooring, so I came to the store on Green Acres Road, Eugene. I have not been disappointed up to this time. Good service, friendly, not pushy, gave me all the options, and all the pros and cons on the flooring.
