Great store employee experience!

5.0

out of 5

When I walked into the store, Greg was standing nearby and he saw me looking at A/C units. He pleasantly approached me and asked if he could assist me. He inquired about what I was looking for in an A/C unit and he helped me decide which unit would be best for my apartment. I was so surprised that Greg approached me unsolicited, provided helpful detailed information on the product, all while using a professional, SUPERB customer service demeanor. Greg was perhaps one of the best, if not the best, retail sales employees I have ever interacted with. In the future, I will return to this store to seek out Greg's help and advice. Thank you Greg!!!

Great Store, Horrible Subcontractors

4.0

out of 5

The store employees are great, they always take the time to help, and really try to find you the best deals and discounts. But once you purchase something like a door or window treatments prepare to wait. Prepare to get lost in a sea of people with no ability to help you. Prepare to deal with inept subcontractors. We ordered blinds here that took 3 times to get correct because the computer offered products that no longer existed. Each time the blinds arrived we had to hound the subs to get an installation date. They say they called us but they never left a message so our blinds sat for weeks in their warehouse. We ordered a door that was supposed to be delivered 6 to 8 weeks and it has sat in the installers warehouse for at least 2 weeks. We spent a week calling this home depot before the sub contacted us and told us we'd have to wait another week for the door. I've never had a good experience with the subs here.

Usually they have what I need and a fair price. Floor help is hard to find. They don't like letting you demo power tools. Self checkout mostly out of order.

Tim in the Garden Department

Tim in the Garden Department is always a wealth of information; helpful; a gentleman and my favorite HD garden person. The cashier and one of the Associates called on the Public Address system so I could find Tim and ask him questions concerning a project. Was her name Noeline or Noel? I cannot remember, but she was very pretty with long dark hair and had a great smile!

Kathleen went out of her way to help me. I usually hate shopping at Home Depot. I had an issue with a return. I tried calling the store to verify that the item, could be returned, but no one answered the phone after 30 mins!!! So, I drove there. Kathleen greeted me, asked me what she could do for me, and solved my problem. WOW! This is the first time, I ever had this great of CS from this store. THANK YOU KATHLEEN!!!!

It's ok. It's Home Depot

2.0

out of 5

Meh. You need it, so you go. But it's not fun. Or surprising. Well, you might be surprised by how little the associates know about the stock and where it lives. I don't entirely blame them though. I guess their training is wanting, not to mention fair pay and benefits that would keep them in their job long enough for them to accrue some knowledge and fluency. There are exceptions, but I still think of emblematic that time I was looking for an item and was directed to three different incorrect locations by no less than three associates, all of whom guided my steps with utter confidence, only to be directed at last by another customer who sent me to the correct location! Ugh. Also, I'd rather HD buy better, higher quality product and add a few pennies to our cost. I find the stuff cheap. And it totally lacks innovation.

Poor stock

1.0

out of 5

really don't understand not having things in stock. this has been a repeated problem with this store and its website having inaccurate info this has to be the highest producing store in LA especially servicing the westside. I went to buy a power flush toilet and there is none on the floor and they don't carry them on the floor even when the store associate says many people ask for them. MAYBE IT"S TIME FOR A NEW STORE MANAGER THAT CAN ACTUALLY DO HIS JOB.

Great store but beware...

4.0

out of 5

Great store. You will find what you need but beware of the time of the day you plan on making your visit. Most contractors will storm that plane in the mornings through mid afternoon. I am a handyman by trade and even I avoid those hours when I can. If you have questions or need to purchase bulky or difficult to handle items I suggest pay a visit anytime after 5:00pm.

I really like this store

5.0

out of 5

I have shopped at this store for many years. There are always associates available to help. I am a woman, and large warehouse type stores such as Home Depot can be overwhelming, but I always feel comfortable at this Home Depot. I have probably shopped in every department of the store, and I have never had a bad experience. The associates of each department are very knowledgeable and helpful, which I find surprising, because that isn't the case in many other stores. So thank you Home Depot. As weird as it may seem for a woman to say, you are one of my favorite stores.
