When it's time to make the leap into a new home improvement project, you might not have everything you need in the garage or shed. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Montrose Rental Center for tools, trucks, and large equipment.
Tool Rental
Start your DIY project with the right tools for the job. Let our Tool Rental Center in Montrose expand your tool belt with the items you don't have on hand. Rent the tools you need and return them when the job is done. If those rental tools just went from wanted to needed, we have used tools available for purchase. The retired rental tools are discounted compared to the new items in our aisles.
Leaf Blowers
Try renting a leaf blower to blow away leaves. Fall will be here before you know it, so have a leaf blower at the ready. It's far less work than raking them into piles. It's also easy to use on hardscaping surfaces, concrete sidewalks, and driveways. Choose from backpack, walk-behind, or handheld leaf blowers.
Insulation
To make your home more energy efficient, upgrade your insulation. Rent specialized equipment for insulation to install it correctly. Choose from a cellulose insulation blower or a fiberglass blower, and get those nooks and crannies insulated with ease. Installing insulation helps to keep your home nice and cool in the summer and warm and cozy in the winter, all while tempering your heating and cooling bills.
Heaters
If you can't stand working or being outside in the cold, check out our heater rentals. Portable heaters keep outdoor events, barns, or workspaces warm. They are safer than torch patio heaters because portable heaters have no open flame, and they also blow the hot air for more coverage. We carry gas, propane, and electric heaters in various sizes. Couple this with nice outdoor lighting and a jacket, and you can extend work or play well into the evening with the extra warmth.
Truck Rental
To move large tool rentals or anything else, we keep pickup trucks as well as Penske moving trucks on hand, with availability varying by store. You're sure to find the right size truck rental for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your trusted source for DIY projects, packing, and storage needs, it's easy to make us your go-to source for transport and moving as well.
Large Equipment Rentals
Handle expansive projects with the right professional equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job yourself. From the boom and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators and mini skid steers for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.
Although we're mentioning popular truck, tool, and large equipment rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular tool in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent a piece of large equipment, a tool, or a truck?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see which tools or trucks you can rent. If you'd like confirmation before you get there, call first to ask about a large equipment, truck, or tool. You can also read our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your favorite store. For more info on renting tools or large equipment, read these Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to review the contract and the terms and conditions before you choose a truck.
When can I bring the tools back?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need it longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Do saw rentals come with saw blades?
Yes, power saw rentals generally come with blades, but we do recommend that you buy your own. Your rental likely won't come with a new blade. However, you may luck out and have a sharpened blade on the saw. Since there's no guarantee, it's better to purchase a suitable blade, just in case you need it.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Note the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck or large equipment with only a driver's license?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Large equipment and select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.
How do I get my large equipment rental?
Depending on your location, you can get large equipment delivered straight to your job site for an affordable rate — whether that's at your home or out in the field. We'll need at least 24 hours' notice so we can adequately prepare your rented equipment, and you'll need to rent it for a full day. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to one of our knowledgeable associates for the best way to get your large equipment.
How do I avoid penalties and extra fees on my large equipment rentals?
Think of your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and that you obey traffic laws. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get hit with a late fee.
