What additional precautions is The Home Depot taking in light of COVID-19?
The adjusted hours give stores the ability to staff appropriately and provide additional time to restock shelves and perform cleaning. As part of our normal practice, our stores and other facilities are cleaned and sanitized daily. Following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we've increased the frequency of cleaning and general hygiene maintenance in stores and other locations. We've also stepped up our efforts to disinfect high-traffic and high-touch areas like self-checkout, door handles, and bathrooms, as well as posting signage about handwashing and other preventative actions.
We're promoting social distancing in our stores and distribution centers, which includes stores limiting the number of customers inside at any given time. My husband and I had a phenomenal experience with a store associate this week. We found a lot of the associates helpful, but we were in a terrible pinch trying to purchase an oven for our home after ours broke unexpectedly. The store associate went above and beyond to help make a sale happen for us when all other places in town wouldn't. We shop here often for home project updates and have always had a good experience. However, this particular one makes me willing to travel the extra distance to shop here over any other home improvement store in town.

The associate I dealt with was phenomenal, he went above & beyond to help me. The washer that I purchased was on sale, rang up full price twice. The manager's response when called by the associate was that I don't get the advertised sale price because I was taking it home rather than having it delivered. There was a $301.00 difference! I asked the associate to have the manager come speak to me. When the associate called the manager again he couldn't be bothered speaking to me. He then told the associate to sell it to me for the online advertised price, the one on the big card on the washer in the store. Would this manager be okay paying $301.00 more than what an item is marked?! Ridiculous and I'm not sure I'll go back after this.
