I usually don’t complain when a store does badly because mistakes happen, but what transpired afterwards is what was really upsetting. I purchased a large order of items for delivery at the Port Charlotte store to renovate our guest bath. Among the items in the order was a bath tub. The wrong tub was delivered to my home. It had the drain on the wrong side so I could not install it at all. I contacted the Port Charlotte store, and arrangements where made to pick up the wrong tub and drop off the correct one. I was also told the North Port Store fulfilled the order, and the two stores had to coordinate together to get the situation resolved. When they came to pick up, they did not have the correct tub and I was told another truck would deliver it. No such delivery happened. Again I contacted Port Charlotte to “remind” them I still did not have my tub. At this point, the two stores are juggling responsibility for the screw up, so I drive to Port Charlotte to find out where my tub is, and the store associate calls the North Port store and has me speak to customer service there. I was told that my tub would be delivered on Friday. Meanwhile five of us at home are sharing one bathroom. Late Thursday evening, I get a call stating my tub will be delivered Saturday. So I make my own special arrangements and drive to North Port to pick up the tub myself. Here’s the cherry on top of this cluster fudge... I’m parked in the second spot in front of the doors. The tub is on a wheeled cart, and two associates are “helping” me load it on my van, which I had to clean out and drop all the seats, so I could pick this tub up, I already paid $80 to have deliver. We walk out of the store and my van is literally ten yards from the door, and one of the associates says, “Why don’t you pull up to make it easier on everybody” with an aire of entitlement reserved for little blonde princesses. I turn to him and say, “What would’ve been easier on everyone is if you idiots delivered the right tub in the first place!” I’m not proud of it, but at this point I had to let off a bit of steam or things would’ve gotten nasty, and I try to not be that guy. So it’s really a mix of the Port Charlotte and North Port stores I’m really reviewing. But needless to say, I shouldn’t have to play monkey in the middle and Port Charlotte should’ve step up and resolved this sooner and without so much grief to a returning customer.
