Don't shop at the Warrenton, VA store
Lack of experienced associates. And at self checkout I was accused of not paying because of doing more than one transaction. I have multiple projects that need to be billed to the appropriate cost centers. The employee should learn how to speak to a customer before making assumptions.

    Visit the Garden Center for expert advice from Andrea!
    I'm not a gardener and I needed help finding potted plants that would survive the winter outdoors. I was lucky to be helped by Andrea who is extremely knowledgeable and took the time to help me select the right plants, soil and mulch needed as well as explain the care the plants need now and what I'll need to do in the spring. I'll definitely be back to get garden and landscaping help from Andrea again! (One star off for the fact that this Home Depot has very dim parking lot lighting and absolutely no lighting at all outside of the garden center. )

      Sales person ordered wrong cabinet and Home Depot would not make good on their error.
      I ordered a kitchen cabinet. The wrong one was ordered. It arrived dirty and scuffed. I returned the cabinet for a refund. When I tried to order the correct cabinet, I was told it was not available. I could though get a higher grade cabinet in the style I wanted for a much higher price. I have wasted three 100 mile round trips.

        Had to return a mini split that was not operational due to no pre charged R410a freon…. Pat at the service counter made a call and a replacement is being delivered to the store in less than a week…. Now that’s service.

          I now know how.
          I went in with a vision and came out with the tools to make it happen. I knew what I wanted to make but did not know how to do it then along came Chase. One very helpful and friendly employee whom took the time out to help me find what I needed to make my vision happen. Chase is a craftsman whom took the time out to teach me how to build the table I needed but not sure how to build. Because of Chase I now feel very confident to complete my project.

                  Disappointing store experience
                  I'm pretty unhappy that I need to take the time to write this, but I want to make you aware of a very disappointing experience in the store tonight. On 27 July, I purchased a jug of Olympic deck cleaner SKU 1003422950 (Receipt # 8552-62-56101, Invoice 5624177). I set it on the floor of my SUV, and it tipped over while driving, spilling about 6 ounces of a highly caustic bleach solution on my floormat. Luckily, it was a good one, and I'm not aware of any damage to my car. I stopped in last night, explained the situation to ASM Jimmy, and showed him a picture. I wanted him to know the caps were loose on this caustic product so other customers would not have a similar experience. While there, I tested a few other jugs and found at least one with a loose cap. Regardless, I purchased a replacement jug along with another $1,100 of merchandise (your invoice 8552 00002 07639). Jimmy took my information and I've already spoken with your third-party resolution folks and let them know I don't think I have enough damage to file a claim. I returned the original jug tonight. If I have the original receipt, it's buried in the back of my SUV, so I printed out the online record (I am a HD Pro customer and former associate). For some reason, your service desk associate could not process the return without the original receipt, and processing it with my HD credit card returned the lower price I paid last night (I had a 10% off coupon). I explained that I thought I should be credited what I paid for the defective product, and she reached out to the MOD, your Customer Experience Manager, XXXXX. I explained that I wanted to be refunded the $17.88 I paid for the defective product I returned. She assured me she could only refund $16.09, the price I paid last night. When I challenged her, she said "I can't open a register and give you money." I assured her I only wanted a credit on my HD card, but she was quite firm, and decided to go to the mat over the $1.79 difference, stating there was nothing she could do. At this time, I advised that there was certainly more she could do, but she was choosing not to, and let her know I was not having a good customer experience. She said "Take it to Customer Experience." I did. I was stunned. I'm still stunned that a senior associate would choose to alienate a customer over a $1.79 issue. It demonstrates poor judgement and it seems your associates should choose their battles more carefully.
