What is the bag weight

It is important to know this regarding pick-up or delivery ....It seem Home Depot should have the answer to this .....without having such a delay.....It is probably printed somewhere on the Bag......

How many bags would I need to do an area 12' x 4' with a depth of 2 inches? I am going to be using the 12 x 12 Patio Stones.

It would be helpful if Home Depot had a calculator for this stuff on the website like they do for buying bags of mulch.

Can you use this for leveling before putting up a pool?

Asked by: adotson95
You might be able to, but I'd recommend sand instead. The paver base includes larger angular aggregate that could damage or tear the pool material if put directly on top.

Some bags were great and exactly as expected. Others had a lot of big rocks in them that I had to remove. Fortunately I could use those rocks for other parts of my project. Some bags had "junk" in them. Things like pieces of wood, cloth, plastic, and in one bag I found a glove. These are reasons why this product is average.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not sure why there are so many negative reveiws... So I bought this product instead of buying a truckload of limestone base material. Guys... this product is exactly perfect for creating a good solid base layer so i’m not really sure why all the negative complaints... it is the perfect size gravel to level just about any area. If yall watch some youtube videos on how to install pavers you’ll see that this material goes UNDER EVERYTHING ELSE. In other words this is the first layer after you excavate your area. It IS NOT SCREED SAND. Once you spread this layer into your area it has to be plate compacted. Or compacted with a hand tamp. Worked great for me and was a decent alternative to buying a yard/pile of limestone material from a landscape company.

I knew ahead of time what I was getting, and for a project of this type and size, it'll work fine. But, to be clear, this is NOT real paver base, it's just a bag containing sand, some crushed concrete particulate and small pebbles. You can reproduce it's contents exactly by buying a bag of sand and a bag of pebbles and mixing them - which is precisely what Pavestone does. Real paver base, also known as 'Quarry Process', 'Crusher Run' and 'Road Stone' in different areas, is a mix of 3/4" and smaller crushed stone and either stone dust or concrete dust, you'll never find a whole 3/4" pebble in the real stuff. When properly compacted, the real stuff will feel like a concrete floor, the stuff in this bag is closer to what the shoreline feels like after the tide has receded. Bottom line, for small, non-critical basing needs, it'll work, but for anything else call a quarry and get a bag/pallet of the real stuff delivered. For the price of these 20 bags I could have got nearly 2 metric tons of real quarry process delivered to my house in 7 days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from been through about 2 pallets and this works great, not only as a paver base, but as a simple pathway fill. probably not great for areas of high erosion., but it does pack in very nicely.

After laying out the pattern for the walkway with the bricks I used the Paver base to fill the spaces between the bricks halfway, watered it to get out the air pockets. I used a broom to level the paver base across the bricks and watered that in until it was flat. The next day I sweep off the excess and the bricks are like they are in concrete. Thanks to the garden people at Home Depot for their advise and the items them told me about to build this walkway with boards or concrete.

In Pavestone's defense it doesn't say it is gray anywhere on the package, and in most applications it probably doesn't need to be. The label is gray, but the product is tan-ish red.
