The ANVIL 1-1/4 in. Steel Corner Bead Tool with 24 oz. Rubber Mallet is an excellent drywall corner tool. I have never previously used a corner clinching fastener, and for a first-timer, this one was very easy to use. It functioned exactly as it should - flawlessly. This tool cut the time required by my normal “sheetrock nails only” approach by more than 80 percent, completely avoided the dents in the metal cornerbead that sometimes can result from my nailing, and produced a superior result – a well-made drywall corner. It also eliminates the need for a third hand to hold the cornerbead in place required by the drywall nails and hammer approach. Excellent tool, and I will definitely be using it for future projects.

This is probably the neatest tool that I have for drywall. It is very well built and I expect it to last many years without maintenance. It] come with a rubber mallet for hitting the tool drive pin for indenting the metal drywall corner into the drywall. I have seen drywall metal corners coming off in many houses due to improper indenting. I do not think that will be the case with this tool.

Great time saving tool for installing corner beads on drywall edges. The majority of the aluminum metal body is only there for alignment purposes. Since its aluminum its not heavy. You basically smack the metal piston head with the mallet which in turn pinches/staples the edge of the corner bead directly to the drywall while also pulling it tighter into the corner. This is accomplished by two metal teeth that crimp at an angle in a semi circular motion. Corner beads have a variety of holes along its length for nail/screw fastening. Using nails is time consuming and at times the nails can bend or not sit flush which creates problems for spreading the mud. This tool helps eliminate those issues. Start at the top of the corner bead and smack the piston once. Move down about 12” and smack again. Repeat the process until you have covered the length of the corner bead. If you notice any uneven/loose areas use to tool to target that specific location. You can do in 20 seconds what might take several minutes with the traditional hammer and nails method..

The 1-1/4 inch steel corner bead tool with 24 oz rubber mallet arrived extremely quickly. Well packaged with both pieces included and zip tied together. I selected this tool for easy corner beading. I like the ease of holding it on a corner and striking it with the 24 oz mallet. You can't miss the striker. That is the best feature. It is used for setting the corner bead on 90 degree angles. The quality is excellent. It's working out as planned. I like it and would order another.
