Questions & Answers

What is the inside diameter of the pipe

I need to be able to bend the pipe, so I would need a pipe bending spring. What spring OD would I use?
Asked by: Maxx
ah 1/2"... as it's 1/2" copper, not soft copper intended for plumbing and heating...you need a roll of copper, and shouldn't need a spring

can it be used as grounding rod for ham radio

Asked by: richard
Being copper it is an excellent conductor, therefore it should work for grounding purposes. There are also copper rods available in the electrical department at Home Depot that are specifically designed for grounding.

difference between type l vs type m copper pipe

What is the difference between type l vs type m copper pipe.
Asked by: riverat
Type l is thicker than type m. Type l is normally recommended for water piping. Type m is prone to pitting and pinhole leaks over time.

1/2 in. x 10 ft. Copper Type L Pipe is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1/2 copper pipe type L the way to go I found this pipe easy to cut and use. Keep in mind it's only 1/2 inch, the bigger you go the harder it gets to work with. Also please don't use type M, just don't.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from diameter too large Don't use this pipe. The diameter is too large to fit in the fittings. Took about 4 minutes to grind, emery cloth, and steel wool to get this to fit in the fitting. Normally a 15 second job. Old pipe fit no problem. Took 5 hours to do a 3 hour job. I had 30 sweat fittings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Copper Pipe...does its job This obviously is a bit of a beast to install piping. Especially for what I was doing. Install took a day. Found a small hole in the piping because I ran water through it before it had time to cool. My own fault but had to redo that area.
